Once seated waited 15 minutes before my waitress came to my table. Ordered a brisket steak that had obviously was not made to order, was cold, dry, and hardened. Fries were cold , oily, brown, and had been cooked in old grease. Sent the plate back and replaced it with a hamburger that was okay but was salty. The waitress however was gracious, friendly and responsive.

We came here based on the reviews for my wife's birthday, and maybe it was an off night...but the food was bad. We had to return the shrimp appetizer, it smelled and tasted off, and our entrees had very little flavor. The drinks were average, but nothing special. The place is designed more with groups in mind for sure...it didn't feel very romantic or cozy with just the two of us. It was an empty Tuesday night to be fair. But it's the kind of place that's either dead quiet or really loud. Maybe I could be convinced to come back in a group on comedy night or something, but unlikely

We had a great time at this restaurant! There unfortunately was a big fire downtown when we went here but nonetheless they made sure we still got our food mid blackout and we’re still going ok! We loved the bartender she was so fun and nice! Will be back for sure!

This was our second visit to Cellar Door, and it's always a great menu and well-prepared food. I like going down the cellar steps into the restaurant. Always feels like a special, intimate place to be.

I've never have been in the Frederick area - came to this bar with my friends, had a few drinks then was dancing with all of my friends on the dance floor. It was a good atmosphere dancing with everyone..... then all of the sudden someone GRABS my arm and says "you need to leave." I asked the person that told me if I could have a second to gather my belongings and I was able to. I was not drunk whatsoever neither were any of my friends. This was unacceptable, uncomfortable and unprofessional. I've never been treated like this in my life. I think it was a discriminatory act. Do not come here unless you are okay randomly being asked to leave with no reason.

Great food in a very quaint environment, very quiet with great service with a smile. Waitress checked on us often to ensure we wanted for nothing. Highly recommend if you want a romantic dinner.
Eight of us for Sunday brunch. We had very good service and everyone thought their food was delicious. Rockfish and grits was really good.

Good place for drinks and appetizers. Crab dip was delicious and there was a generous enough serving that my husband and I had some left to take home for happy hour the next night. Specialty cocktail was also tasty. Entrees were disappointing. My salad was waaaaay over-dressed (I should learn to always ask for the dressing on the side.) and was really small, not an entree serving. My husband's fish in the fish and chips entree was not good, overcooked and flavorless.

Cozy little place - hidden gem! We enjoyed the smash burgers, the beef & cheese sandwich and goat cheese Milanese salad. The cocktails were also excellent - especially the mojito and mule. Highly recommend!
