Unfortunately, the great reviews didn't match the day we went. Maybe it was an off-day. I brought a new business colleague here for lunch. I ordered the fish and chips and the crab/corn chowder. The chowder was decent albeit lukewarm. It was tasty however. The fish and chips however, came out and was definitely hot...and dripping in brown grease on top of a bed of fries which also became grease ladened. The fish aside from being grease ladened was extremely bland. The fries were tasty however not very crispy as they had soaked up the grease from the fish. My business colleague also ordered a different fish on the menu and it was mediocre. It's a great location along Carroll Creek so I may give it another try in which case, I'll adjust my review accordingly.

It was a rainy evening, so maybe the ambiance would be better on another evening. Either way, the Catfish special was spectacular. So delicate inside and just the right amount of spice. It came on a bed of perfect and fine-ground grits with sweet and spicy brussel sprouts to die for.

Brunch only review. Dont do it. Frederick is a bad bad brunch town with basically nothing great. however, this maybe the worst i ve had. I had to pull up the menu after the meal came to even confirm we got the right food because it was such a sorry excuse for the Cowboy breakfast and the huevos rancheros. Cocktails were also terribly unbalanced. Really expected more from a prime real estate place but maybe they are better after brunch but STEER CLEAR for brunch.

Website and sign in window had hours indicating open but sign on door said closed. Not sure whether it was temporary close or permanent.

Came to Frederick to stroll the downtown and Carroll Creek with the pup. Hubby and I realized it was lunchtime and stopped here for a bite. We sat on the patio overlooking the creek and a parade of servers brought our pup treats, water, and lots of scritchy scratches! I had a world-class Bloody Mary and delicious shrimp and grits, hubby enjoyed his fish and chips. Servers were all super nice and reasonable prices, can’t wait to go back!Parking: We usually park in the Church Street garage.Kid-friendliness: There’s a kids menu.

Nice meal. Lots of options on the menu and tasty stuff. Cocktails were a bit disappointing. Appreciated the local beer options. There was only one waitress working and she had to make drinks too. She did the best she could.

The food here is consistently delicious. I’ve had the blackened catfish and grits (with amazing Brussels sprouts and couple of times and it’s been exceptional every time. The chef has a real way with fish (I’m pescatarian) and even the “simple” salads are remarkable. The space is not super fussy, but has nice views of the area. I’ve brought several people here who have also had their expectations surpassed. A very pleasant place to get perfectly presented food *and* drink.

They serve at a level of culinary proficiency you’d expect from restaurants priced three times what they do without pretension. Plates are well balanced. Items are consistently cooked perfectly. It’s obvious they take loads of pride in the work.

Me and my partner went to Fredrick for the day and while waiting for brunch at another restaurant with a long wait, we walked by Truth and Beauty, so happy that we did!!!Lucky us we happened to try them on a day without a long wait, we were amazed by their selection of tasty and but healthy food and beverages. This was complimented by great service, everyone was super friendly and welcoming! The location is picturesque, so If you are in the area, stop everything and go here immediately!!

We went last Saturday night (right as the fire department was finishing up the fire on South Carroll). We were able to get a two top at the back of the restaurant. The seats were near a dark hallway which felt a little unsettling but I do respect that the owner is being economical. Our waitress got us our drinks quickly. Our go to is the fried pickles. They are the best in town, hands down. I had the steak salad special and my wife had the shrimp and grits. I didn’t have the tomatoes on my salad and think it was needed(that’s on me, not the chef). The steak was cooked well and lightly seasoned. The waffle fries were crispy! My wife had the shrimp and grits and they were amazing. She usually eats half her portion and saves the second half for another meal, not tonight! Our server disappeared for a portion of our meal and I had to go to the bar to get a refill of my soda water( our waitress was also working the bar). I did feel there was a lack of communication by the staff because there other servers never checked in on us. That’s a little disappointing is such a small restaurant. That leads to my final frustration. They sat a four top with a booster seat and essentially blocked me in. I literally had to ask the other people to move their chairs so I could get out. So I hope my critiques are viewed as constructive. We will definitely go back because the food is always, ALWAYS, good. They are also super supportive of the LGBTQ community which is a reason to keep supporting them!Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a small restaurant and I would imagine it would be tight. With that being said, I am sure they would figure something out.

It was okay…our server was great! Our food was lukewarm. I got the deep fried pork. The Mexican corn was delicious, however the pork was far from it. It was very chewy and fatty. I could only eat a piece, the rest were so fatty and chewy that it was uneatable. Maybe brunch would have been better?

This spot in downtown Frederick is perfect for brunch! They open at 11am and we got there at 11:30. Only 15 minute wait and there was a huge presence of people hanging out along Carroll Creek with lots of outdoor seating to wait. Our waitress was Maureen and she was lovely. We got Blackberry Mimosas and a Bloody Mary and they were really good! The special today was Steak and Eggs with the steak being Filet Mignon ... it didn't last long that's for sure haha. I got the Downtown and my friend for the Everything Bagel sandwich and all of us gave the food an average of 7.5 out of 10. The real winner of the meal was the dessert! They have a chocolate cake and raspberry sorbet and the two together were unreal delicious. We all agreed we would come back just for those. Overall, this place is a winner!
