Better than all the rest in the grocery and prepared foods Avenue. For sure
I have loved the Wegman's chain of grocery stores since first discovering them when we lived in Northwestern Pennsylvania. I was thrilled to find one in Frederick, Maryland when we moved here. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic started, the quality of products and service have been steadily going down hill. One example is that I recently purchased Wegman's store brand Hummus three separate times at the Frederick Wegman's (both individual serving sizes and large tubs) only to discover after taking them home that the plastic seal on the product was not intact. Because I can't take the package apart in the store to verify the seal without risking being accused to damaging the product myself, I have had to throw the product away. I am very disappointed in this change in Wegman's. It looks like I'm going to have to find a new grocery store.
I don’t usually shop at Wegmans because it’s always so busy but I went there on my way home the other day and bought both baby Bella mushrooms and cut up butternut squash. Turns out the mushrooms had fuzzy mold growing in there when I opened it up and just now the squash also was moldy. They were both well within the use by date. Very disappointing
Wegmans hot bar is now $15.99 per pound. Thank goodness rice is separate for $1.99 for 12 oz. They have lost their minds because this ok Chinese food. I got 3 small chicken wings, 1/2 c of black pepper beef and 2/3 cup of broccoli with mushrooms (best part of meal) for $11. Way more expensive than Whike Foods but we don’t have one. Cheaper to go to Wingstop or a Chinese restaurant and get better food.
On April 15th 2020 my Mother Mary F Iwancio died of covid exposure from her place of employment Wegmans.Where she had been employed for years. Her bosses informed her weeks prior that the employees weren't allowed to wear masks due to not wanting to scare away the customers. My father and me took it to the workers comp commission due to employers being protected from wrongful death lawsuits because of covid deaths. We won but not without a lengthy battle where Wegmans lawyers tried every under handed ,backdoor scheme to try and blame everyone else and anything else. Even going as far as trying to slander her in my eyes. Wegmans does not care about there employees . A week or so after she passed away the owner of Wegmans posted online that Wegmans employees are family and we protect our family. Really ? Protect them by restricting them from protecting themselves? If you shop and or support Wegmans you support the employees dying and not being treated well. Think about that the next time you wanna go shopping at WEGMANS. A husband lost his wife,a son and daughter lost a mother,a niece and nephew lost a grandmother, Earth lost a amazing soul.
Working scale printers make it easy to stay within budget for holiday meals.
I was excited to see Wegmans was coming to Frederick. It was and still is a wonderful experience to shop there. You can find almost anything. One disappointment was when they decided to get rid of the dining experience with a chef. We loved going there on Fridays to check out the great selection the chef had to offer. He even taught me how to grill the steak that they had on the menu. He even went shopping for me while we ate so I would have all the ingredients. The buffet is wonderful. I still miss having dinner there and exchanging ideas with the chef.
Best fish counter of any grocery store in the area. Very well organized, super clean, and very enticing displays. There is always a large whole fish, spectacular lobster tails, oysters or pikes of sea scallops, etc. couldn’t resist loading up on king salmon on the latest trip; it was delicious, pan fried with butter and rosemary. Staff is always very well informed about their products and helpful about cooking ideas.
First, this is our favorite grocery store. Ever. Clean, so much stuff and really nice people. You can pick anything for a meal...anything! Pizza, sandwiches in cafe were excellent. Always shop for cooler on visit and for the trip home.
My kids work there. 😄

Had the grilled chicken sub, this review reflects the sub not the associate.. The associate was great and super helpful. The sub not so much, the toppings were all nice and fresh but the chicken was not good. I was expecting Wegmans made grilled chicken instead it was the precooked bagged stuff you get in the precooked cold food section. The chicken was not the quality i was expecting. Has to take it off the sub and throw it away. Next time i will ask what meat (brand name) is being used, if there is a next time
We decided to stop at this Wegman's on the way back from DC. This location is minutes from Rt70 and Rt270, and right off of Rt15. The store is very clean, and has a great cafe area that offers a ton of items. We decided to get a couple of slices of pizza with sausage and pepperoni...and a peanut butter pie at their bakery. As good as the slices of pizza were, the peanut butter pie was perfectly AWESOME !!! The chocolate shavings on top with the peanut butter drizzle and mousse-like filling.......mmmmmmm, so good!
Wegmans Sushi is freshly made and tasty for an affordable price.
Wegman's has everything. Great values. Quality seafood and butcher. Bakery, cheese, olive bar you have it all. Great hot food, salad bar, sub shop.
