Zi Pani Bagels & Bread

Zi pani is a fantastic family owned sandwich and bagel shop. They had two locations one on Thomas Johnson Drive on the northside of town and then this the Ballenger Creek Location. Unfortunately, this location has closed but so glad to still be able to go to Thomas Johnson Drive and get their food.

The only bagel store in Frederick that boiled their bagels closed years ago. Once that happened, Zi Pani took the top spot, but they are not even close to those you can find in places like Long Island. But for Frederick, this is a pleasant little breakfast sandwich and bagel shop.

Bagels are always good, but when I ordered a decaf latte, I noticed that the machine was not clean. I watched the girl as she barely cleaned out old coffee with a spoon from the espresso maker. She didn't even get it all out. Then I noticed the steamer wand was filled with old gunk. I ordered an almond milk latte and you'd think she would take extra care not to cross contaminate. After she steamed my almond milk, I observed that she didn't wipe the wand at all (you're supposed to wipe it with a wet cloth immediately after steaming milk) which would explain the gunk piled up on top. I love the bagels and my family and I have been getting bagels here for years, but I don't think we will be going back. Who knows how clean (or not so) it is in the back. Yuck.

Good selection of bagels. Get it toasted if you have time. Several coffee flavors to choose from. Clean tables and friendly staff.

Great bagels when they have the flavors available. I went around 10am but couldn't get any French toast bagels. They are good though.

Fantastic everything bagels and veggie cream cheese! They are a complete hit when I treat my coworkers to a morning snack.

Bagel crust was hard for a fresh bagel. Not good

Completely underrated. Great service. Welcoming atmosphere. Cute decorations. Zipani should be up there with the great coffee shops of Frederick. Definitely worth checking out.

If I could rate this place any lower, I would. I honestly made an account to write this review because my experience was so bad, that I'm not even sure where to start.

The restaurant was quiet, the staff was friendly, the food (and coffee) was fantastic and very fresh, and they had some neat seasonal specials. The pumpkin bagel with caramel apple cream cheese was fantastic. I highly recommend Zi Pani.

The Bagels are just amazing, they earned their vote Best Of Frederick for a reason!!!! The prepared sandwich was fine that we had there, but they can spice it up a bit. The coffee and the place are nice!!
