Had a great night out this past weekend at 7 Billiards Shady Grove in Gaithersburg, MD with my cousins — fun, relaxed, and exactly what we were looking for. This place has become a solid local spot for hanging out, playing pool, and just enjoying a friendly Friday night.

The location is pretty central, right off Shady Grove Road in a shopping area. It can be a little tricky to find at first since it’s tucked toward the back of the strip, but once you get there, it’s worth it. The space has multiple pool tables in good condition and the layout works well for groups. They also have dart boards set up if you want a break from the tables.

We arrived around 5 PM on a Friday and the place was already filling up — definitely recommend getting there a bit earlier or later to secure your table. There’s a happy hour and good drink options, which probably helps draw the crowd. The full bar has a nice selection of beers, cocktails, and bar snacks to keep you fueled while you play.

Everything about the setup worked well: the tables were in good shape, the cues were decent, the service was friendly, and the overall vibe was casual and fun — a great place for a night out with friends or family.

Parking was easy and plenty of space was available in the lot outside, so we didn’t have any issues finding a spot. It’s a nice bonus for a place you might want to visit regularly.

All in all, a solid spot for billiards, drinks, and good company — definitely planning to come back.

Friendly bartenders and nice atmosphere. Very clean and I should've taken a pic of my food because it was the best ever.

My boyfriend and I came in about a week ago and had an amazing time. Great
vibes, fun atmosphere, and a place we were excited to come back to.

Unfortunately, when we returned last night (about an hour and a half before the posted closing time), we were immediately turned away. Staff told us they were closing early because the other players were “finishing up,” which was confusing and disappointing.

It’s frustrating to plan an evening around a business’s listed hours only to be turned away without warning. I’d still recommend the spot based on our first visit, but just be aware, the hours don’t seem consistent, and it’s hard to know if they’ll actually be open.

Been waiting to play pool their with my son for some years. Friday is no longer league night so we lucked out. Brick with high ceilings, next level pool tables, friendly staff, full bar. What's not to like!!!

I don’t really know how the scheduling works, but went there 3 times, in different times and days… and even seeing a lot of available tables, they told me there was no availability.
Little frustrating. I’m not trying anymore.
But they do have great tables, and location.

Met a meetup group here Saturday night at 7. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries ($12) with a Cabernet ($8). Food was good. Some people played darts and others played pool. Pool came to $36 for about two hours, which wasn't bad with 4 people playing. It was somewhat crowded. Music is from a jukebox and was at a decent level. You could still have conversations. Parking is ample but place was hard to find. It's behind a cigar store. Follow signs to Wonder Books.
