This place was a surprise hit for me. I was extremely hesitant the moment I sat down - the restaurant was empty and dark, and the only entertainment was Dikembe Mutombo’s NBA highlights on loop for two hours straight, lol.
Jollof Rice - Rice, tomato paste, pepper, garlic & onion. It’s a sweeter rice entrée & actually quite enjoyable. I’d recommend adding the goat - it pairs really well.
Apapa Efo Riro - Made with spinach, egusi (ground melon seeds), & fish. This dish was full of flavor & easily the highlight of our dinner.
Fufu - A West African paste made from cassava and green plantain flour. I swapped this in for white rice, and it was a great call. The texture is unique, but it blended perfectly with the Apapa Efo.
Overall - I can see why the reviews are mixed. The service was extremely slow - it took 45 minutes for just 2 entrées & there were only 2 other guests in the restaurant. The ambiance is confusing; I’m not sure what vibe they’re going for.
That said, the food was surprisingly delicious! The menu lacks detail, so you’re better off asking for recommendations. Prices could be a bit lower to attract more customers, but the portion sizes are decent.

cassava leaf lacks flavor and the chicken was dry and weird texture. $26 dollars for cassava leaf and they also give a tiny portion of rice.
Oooohhhh I ate a nice grilled fish with fried yams, the restaurant lady was great and nice, the food also keep going
Food good & everything.
The food is very tasty, but the service wasn't at a desired level.
Gave me old fish meat and when I told the MANAGER ON DUTY.. he said he would let the Cooks know... not remake...no apology.. no discount.. in fact.. they over charged me and I told them to charge me for some RICE and he charged me 20 for rice! I said that's ok. I'm filing a complaint after I spoke to the OWNER and she told me to come back they would remake and charge me again. If you are American, do not go here. They think you know nothing about AFRICAN cuisine and have the nerve to be stupid expensive. NEVER AGAIN. AND I CALLED MONTGOMERY COUNTY. Will post the results after investigation is completed because I got sick later that evening. Terrible service and food. The place is dirty. Update: by the time i received a response from the owner. I had forgotten about the ordeal because I said I would never go back. They don't care. They don't want my American dollars anyway.
First off, the prices that they have online are $10 less than what they actually charge. Secondly the food wasn't that great! The waitress was extremely nice and friendly however, I won't be spending my money there again. Way to overpriced

Brought a family friend here. Had a pleasant lunch she was good company. The service was okay. A little rough on the start. Food came out frozen. Everything tasted well ? though. I would like to return and try some other items.
Fish soup, goat stew, and meat pies. The pies had wonderful flavors and were homemade. They were frozen on arrival, though. All mishaps aside, the atmosphere was nice.

So I went to this place before and never had the most terrible experience that I have had today it was new staff very inexperienced and slow food not cooked RIDICULOUS! And when I asked for the manager the manager gets an attitude because her worker is slow and then tries to tell a lie that we came after the restaurant was closed when my cousin ate her full meal and we ordered the same thing and I was still waiting. So much to say that was wrong with this raggedy place!

Suya isn’t cooked like it should be. Very disappoint!
Didn’t get to eat, I sat there for 20 minutes and no one served me anything. I was handed a menu and that’s it. Smells strange. Hard pass on this restaurant.

First time, tried the egusi dish and pounded yam and I was very disappointed. I wanted spinach Egusi, got home it tasted so bitter, I called and they said it was a wrong veggie option. They offered me to go pick the right Egusi, I drove all the way to get home and have the same bitter Egusi againAt this I didn’t want to call them anymore. I have ate Egusi from other restaurants and it’s amazing
