Wow, just wow!!! I had an unthinkable request on a Friday afternoon. To have a custom 3 tier cake for 80ppl to be ready by the following Tuesday.
When I called the Gaithersburg location, I spoke to a very friendly girl named Naomi, who asked that I send over an email with creative ideas and she would get back to me. Within the hour, she explained that my request could be done and to come into the shop later so we could talked details.
When I arrived to the store, Naomi wasn’t available but I was able to work with another associate Tina. Tina was AMAZING. She was patient, detail-oriented, any question or design idea I had she took the time to go and ask the baker to make sure it could be done.
On Tuesday, the last minute cake was delivered on time and was a hit. Probably one of the best cakes I’ve had in A LONG TIME!!! Classic Bakery, you will forever have my business!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this happen!!!

I’m giving 3 stars because I ordered tres leches and I got a vanilla cake with strawberry cream filling. The lady at the desk told me it was tees leches. It was a dry(er) cake. It was delicious, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not what it was advertised as or what I wanted. The staff are great and very kind. The bakery has a lot of options for cake. Some need to be pre-ordered. My sis in law ordered a Nutella cake a month ago from a different location and got a chocolate cake with cherry filling. I don’t know if they’re creating their own spin on their cakes, but it throws off the experience.

For the most part, Classic Bakery makes superb cakes and desserts. Unfortunately, a recent experience with the owner and manager has completely changed my opinion of this once “classic” bakery.
Customer service leaves much to be desired. Although they claimed their goal was to ensure I was a satisfied customer, the owner’s attitude said otherwise. He was defensive and dismissive, repeatedly trying to justify the issue rather than listening to my concerns. His “apology” only came after attempting to discredit everything I said—by that point, it meant nothing.
When he offered a store credit, I declined. I no longer wished to do business with a company that clearly doesn’t value its customers. The call ended with the owner telling me there was “something seriously wrong” with me, all while I could hear people giggling in the background—completely unprofessional behavior.
What's most disappointing is that I know the original owner is a tru gentleman. I'm not sure if I spoke to the son or grandson but by his tone I'm assuming the latter. Such a shame.
I’m truly disappointed. I can’t believe this person represents the face of the bakery. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Classic Bakery. Fortunately, there are plenty of other bakeries in the area that offer not only spectacular products but also the respect and professionalism customers deserve.

The cake was worth every penny. I needed a full sheet cake for a Naval Officer's Retirement. Hope Stanphill at Classic Bakery was spectacular: friendly, professional, helpful. She answered myriad questions. The cake got rave reviews at the Reception. It was gorgeous and delicious. I'd use this bakery again in a heartbeat.

They say it was so delicious.. they eat some take some home with them..While everyone continues to look for a new bakery in town, I stick to Classic.. Old is Gold.. maintaining their quality year after year… I give them all the stars in the cosmos.
We used Classic for my daughter’s 5th birthday party desserts and couldn’t have been happier! Several guests commented on how wonderful the cake tasted. We will definitely be ordering from them for every celebration!

I cannot recommend Classic Bakery enough! We ordered a dinosaur-themed cake for my son's third birthday, and it was an absolute showstopper. Not only was the decoration detailed and perfect, but the taste was phenomenal.
The cake was incredibly moist and flavorful—perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. All of our guests were raving about how delicious it was, and many people asked where I got the cake!
It’s clear this bakery uses quality ingredients and puts care into every layer. Thank you for making my son's birthday centerpiece such a memorable and delicious hit!

We love classic bakery in my family, we have tasted almost all the cake flavors, and by far the marble flavor is one we love the most. We get our custom birthday and event cakes from here and they always deliver the best service. Attached are the inspiration photo(with the cross and Cake topper) and what I got( with only the cross). I did have to provide the color flowers as they only carry white but that wasn't a big deal.
