If I could give this place no stars I would.
Where do I begin, sitting in the patio area, it took almost half an hour for the waiter to get my order of guacamole which I indicated should exclude jalapeño’s but didn’t, halfway through the new guacamole I noticed something dart behind me and turned around to see some mice’s playing around in an area in the patio, I asked to be moved which took another 10-15 minutes, by the time they moved me inside and brought the food I had lost my appetite.
My boyfriend still hungry decided to eat his food, 5 minutes into which some hostesses were trying to take my plate away which still had food in it but asking if I was done, then two hosts started to sweeping and cleaning while my boyfriend was still eating. We ended up leaving.
This is by far the worst experience I have ever encountered in a restaurant…..do better!
The scallops and shrimp chimichanga is excellent! Bonus, they carry Negro Modelo.

Consistently the best food in Rio! Service is always good, and the food is excellent! The pickings for good food in Rio have become slim over the years with constant restaurant closings but Guapos has survived for a reason.
The queso is to die for, my favorite in the area for dine in Queso Blanco. Also every wait staff I've had tend to my tables has been attentive and kind.
There will probably be a wait for a table but it's worth it if you're in Rio already for a movie or something, as there's really no better place to eat in Rio.

We stopped by for a last minute lunch with friends. I had not been to this restaurant in 5-6 years. The food was honestly just as great as I remembered before. We got chicken taquitos, guacamole and a steak dish. The food temperatures and flavors were perfect. The server was kind.

The pollo saltado fries were soggy but all the other food including that, was great. And the waitress I had was phenomenal! Location/ vibes are great too.

I love Mexican food, so my husband and I decided to give this place a try and to be honest, it was nasty. I have been to other Mexican places such as plaza Azteca and the food is wayyy better. The food was overpriced for the quality and quantity. The food had no flavor and looked like someone just through it together. The waiter was nice but I will definitely NOT return.

Great place to grab a bite to eat if you are at Rio. Great location on the lake, good menu, and good service. Burrito was awesome and the margaritas are tasty as well.

Very busy and lively atmosphere. The drinks are strong and the food is pretty good. Fast service and plenty of chips and salsa. What more could you ask for?

The quality of the meat is awful now. Maybe they have a new supplier, but the Carne Asada increased in price and decreased in quality and quantity. Not worth it anymore. Good to go for drinks and atmosphere but trust me the hike in the food prices isn't worth it.

"Mexican" food. This food is like someone explained Mexican food to a person who has never had Mexican food before and then that person reverse engineered it based on the description. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and what I was served was definitely a burrito. A chimichanga is fried in oil. Also the rice had lima beans, peas and carrots in it. They also served enchiladas with no ensalada. The food didn't taste bad, but this is some kind of broadly Latin-American cuisine; not Mexican.
