Perfect Sunday Dim Sum brunch. They seat before 11am, and we’re filled by 11:30. This place is always a winner for my family. The chrysanthemum tea is a delight as well. There are so many people working, you’re quickly taken care of.Not pictured but equally delicious were the baked pork buns, sticky rice, honey walnut shrimp, shrimp cheung fun, crispy taro, pan fried noodles, garlic Choy sum, eggplant with shrimp.

The mall is under renovation, other shops have shop name banners, but they do not(might be wind too strong blown away), used some time to find the entrance. Until saw the chinese name 永發 insideHong Kong Pearl at falls church VA was good, but since pandemic gotten very bad. Friends told me there's another one at Gaithersburg, that's why came to tryDim Sums and staff are nice, just the 馬拉糕 a bit over fermented, you can refer to picture, not affecting the taste, but affected texture.Other than that quite good.Parking: A lot of mall parking space, if not close to restaurant, just park a little bit further

It was a little slow when I went in for dinner, but the service was great and the food was pretty dang good for a local dim sum place. I look forward to coming back at a time when they are doing cart service for dim sum.As a note, I have seen other reviews talking about dirty tablecloths/chair covers or variable food temps. It seems they have replaced all the tablecloths and chair covers so that is not an issue, and all the food I ordered (specifically dim sum menu items) were all fine temp wise.

Attended a dinner banquet @ H.K. Pearl Seafood Restaurant in Gaithersburg MD 2/11/2024. Its a beautiful restaurant, but we were disappointed with the experience.Upon arriving at the table, we discovered dirty plates and utensils, but the waitresses were quick to replace the dirty utensils and plates. The food was average, the 8 course meal (cold dish had huge chucks of roast BBQ pork over jelly fish, seafood tofu soup, blanched chicken, twin Ginger Scallion lobster, a vegetable dish, stir-fry fish with beancurd skin, Kingdom pork chip, fried rice, and desserts) came out slow, some dishes weren't evenly seasoned, fried rice wasn't fully cooked and the proportions were scarce.Wheelchair accessibility: Yed

This was actually the first place that I had dim sum during the week, and it was the most authentic and peaceful experience. They were about a week into their opening operations, and still setting up for the weekend, but I got great food and, service. Even the owner stopped by my table and had a chat with me, as I didn't look like the usual customer who would order Salted Fish Fried Rice. The Har Gaw (shrimp dumplings) were the bounciest, and most tender I've had. Would like to go back here for the dim sum cart experience. Good luck to them on the new business #nichasreviews #asianfood #chinesefood #dimsum #seafood #dmvfoodie #dmveats

While the food here is moderately good, it may not be worth the price. There’s a lot of dishes with pork, and when you walk in there’s just something off about the ambiance of the restaurant. The waitress and waiters are mildly rude, the clientele looks down on you if you’re not dressed for a gala, but there isn’t a clear dress code. They have performances every other major date, but the music is quite loud, almost to the point where you cannot hear yourself or the people you’re with. There’s signs in the women’s bathrooms that are in a foreign language, and the lights aren’t sensorial, which means you might walk into a dark bathroom or have the lights turned off on you.The inside of this place kind of also looks a bit like a party venue, it’s odd, and if you have tourette syndrome or a visible disability they might descriminate you, but overall, it’s pretty much ok for what they give you. 4/5 on the kid friendliness though.

Good, solid dim sum and a pretty nice ambiance. Not quite as fresh as China Garden, particularly the char siu bao and egg tarts, and not quite as nicely decorated, but definitely good enough considering the more-convenient location for us. We'll be back!

Been here a few times in the past when the restaurant was known as "New Fortune" but this meal I had today was a discrimination trip from the owner.I suffer from mild Tourrette Syndrome, and within 5 minutes of being seated, I was escorted by the owner out into the backroom to eat my meal there, stating that I was causing too much noise.I have NEVER been moved or removed in a restaurant due to my condition. Most people are very understanding. Besides that, the food was only decent too.

I am a huge fan of dim sum! And having experienced the traditional dim sum service in Hong Kong, China, New York and London… I’ve been searching for a similar experience in the D(M)V.I was really excited when I stumbled across Hong Kong Pearl Seafood Restaurant! From the pictures I found online I could tell that it would be an authentic dim sum experience with the food carts being pushed around the restaurant and the general decor. All of the menu items definitely were reminiscent of what you would typically expect… Char siu, har gow, siu mai, fung zao, turnip cake, cheong fun and soooo much more!!Overall everything we tried was delicious! Just that maybe because of where we were seated in the restaurant - by the time the dumplings/food got to our table it was luke warm or sometimes cold. Aside from that, as expected with dim sum… The food came out quickly and the service was good.I would definitely visit again, but maybe at the start of the dim sum service to get more opportunity to sample different dishes & also to order off of the main menu.

Not bad. Some new stuff other dim sum place doesn't have.

New management, delicious additions to the dim sum offerings. If you are going there on holiday (Christmas), arrive at 11 or 1 pm to avoid a long wait. For us, the wait was worth it.

For over 20 years this place has and continues to be my favorite dim sum in the entire greater DC area.It used to be called New Fortune Cafe but it’s under new management and the name has changed and the food has really gone up in quality (and price, but that’s everywhere these days). It gets PACKED on the weekends just like it used to when I was a kid going to this place, which is great to see even if I miss the days you could walk in on a Sunday morning and get a table right away. Parking is never an issue, but even with a massive venue it still fills up quick.Food wise they have the best Daan Tat (egg tart) AND this is the only dim sum in the area that serves Tau Fu Fa (sweet tofu/taho/douhua). I also love the Jian Dui (sesame ball) here - the new recipe has an unusual green exterior and a very good sweet paste inside. The new restaurant added super cute piggy shaped Nai Wong Bao (custard bun) that I also adore.Always have to get the classic steamed Har Gow (shrimp ball) and the Char Siu Bao (steamed barbecue pork bun) and their sticky rice has also received an upgrade. On the subject, the Wu Gok (crispy taro) is now sooo crispy and the filling is so rich.Frankly while the menu has some completely new dishes, all the old ones seem new as well with the new recipes being used. Everything just tastes a little better than it used to. This place has always been my #1 dimsum spot in the area due to convenience and specific menu items, but now it’s #1 due to overall quality as well.

Delicious food, pretty good service, and upscale - something I'd been struggling to find in Montgomery county. Can't recommend highly enough - and the prices for the dim sum were reasonable too!
