I drive from out of town to eat at this location. The food is great. The staff are friendly and professional. I always have a great time and Amy is the best!

Always have very fresh meats but for some reason we did get 1 plate that seemed to have freezer burn.

This is still my favorite hot pot place and I'm not even a fan of hot pot.

They have authentic soups.

Furthermore as aCantonese person I find it refreshing to hear Cantonese songs on their playlist. They also have a handful of Cantonese workers who can communicate with my parents well.

We've coming here almost every week for a year now. We always have a great time thanks to our waitress Amy. Every time we get seated she's attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.
Throughout the meal, Amy consistently checked in with us refilled our drinks and ensured our table had everything we needed. She was especially patient and accommodating when we had a few questions and special requests, handling everything with a positive attitude.
She has a very personable approach and we have little jokes ham and forth, like small banter about whether my wifes gonna buy the meal this time or not. She always makes the plsce that much more enjoyable.

Amy is a rock star! The food, as usual, is delicious and hot and custom to one's desired spice level. There's even an adjacent bubble tea shop that has a variety of flavors you can order all on one pad. A highly scrumptious, beautifully decorated, customizable experience can be had here!

Went here for lunch today February 18th for lunch and when my wife and i sat down the waitress tells us that today is a US holiday and lunch is 34.95. We disagree with her and she brings over her phone and shows us that its the first day of Ramadan and says its a US holiday 🤦🏻. We walked out and they lost our business for good. Felt like we were getting taken advantage of. Buyer beware!!

We've tried quite a few hot pot places around the DC area, but amongst all of them, Hot Pot Hero remains our favorite. We have several much closer, but we'd sooner drive the 30 minutes just to come here. Incredible food, great and quick service, and a delightful and quiet atmosphere. Always a delight to come here. Also Amy is a gem and has been super sweet to us!

My partner and I love to visit this place. It's a bit of a drive, and there are closer hot pot restaurants, but this one is far superior to other ones we have tried. The soup bases are great, there is a good selection of meats, noodles, and veggies, and everything is fresh. The service is quick and everyone is very friendly, especially Amy. She recognized us and made sure that we had everything we needed for an enjoyable meal. Looking forward to our next visit.

I honestly would not recommend this place to dine. The customer service was not good from the moment my sister and I came in. Not only were we ignored, it felt like we were an inconvenience to them while other diners were not treated that way. My sister told the owner that she would cover majority of the bill plus tip. When I paid for my portion of the bill, I had planned to tip as well. My sister let me know that she had tipped more to cover for the both of us, so then I didn’t tip. The owner grabbed the tablet from me and pressed 18% and told me I had to tip the workers. After giving the tablet back to me, I pressed 0 and she told me I needed to leave cash. Normally when I dine anywhere, I over tip because I understand that it is very important and I appreciate the hard work people in the restaurant industry put in. My sister said the hot pot was good but I ordered a seafood boil which majorly lacked flavor and seasoning. Upon being seated the owner repeatedly explained the policy that I could not have any of my sister’s hot pot despite my sister saying multiple times that we understood. This entire interaction felt very uncomfortable and extremely difficult to navigate.

Just had an amazing hotpot experience and had to shout it out! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the broth options were perfect for everyone at the table. But what really made the night was Amy — hands down the best server we’ve had. She was attentive, friendly, super patient with questions, and kept everything running smoothly without us ever needing to ask.

If you’re going, definitely hope you get Amy’s section. She made a great meal even better. Can’t wait to come back!
