Returned to Il Porto in Gaithersburg after several years absence. Our family used to enjoy dinners there with our parents and I remember the meals we shared there. So we stopped by yesterday at around 4 pm Saturday for a meal filled with carefully prepared entrees, flavors and a dining experience that brought back fond memories of a good time in our lives. Il Porto is a favorite. We were a large group celebrating a Holiday dinner gathered in a back room. Service was well organized. Individual checks were available. Food was excellent. It is amazing how the kitchen can keep up and serve a variety of meals. I should have known better concerning the menu. One page offered a special with an appetizer, entre, and dessert. No price was shown. I asked and was told $42.00. I selected an appetizer and an entre. I did not ask for a dessert....
