I'm a vegetarian and was never a fan of sushi, but this place made me fall in love with them! Good food! Bento boxes are great! Good juices and drinks, overall a good experience

Dining at this gem is always a delightful experience, consistently hitting the mark no matter when you visit. The welcoming and friendly staff ensure every meal feels special, while their sushi remains impeccably fresh and beautifully prepared. In particular, the Black Magic Roll is a standout—easily one of my favorite dishes, period.
Conveniently nestled in the heart of Kentlands, the location offers ample parking, making visits stress-free. Highly recommended for both sushi enthusiasts and casual diners alike.

For us this was a great find. It's the best sushi joint I've visited in Montgomery County yet. The Chef's Choice sashimi sampler is a must have item. The waitress gave really good recommendations, among which the White Tiger sushi roll was my favorite. Portions are generous. Flavors were satisfying - yes, each sushi roll had a distinctive and great taste, not something most sushi places can say. You can tell they have real sushi chefs working with real ingredients in the kitchen.
Small foot print but tastefully outfitted with a relaxing feel. Last but not least, super clean restroom. All in all, I can't recommend it highly enough, especially given one has to pay $15+ for Five Guys these days.
Parking: Great location.

Go to Kenaki for their great Sushi but be sure to explore the rest of the menu, especially the small plates.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the DMV area. I’ve been here twice and everything I’ve tried is delicious. I can’t wait to return!

Charging money for a little extra sauce on the side is ridiculous and honestly kinda ruined our experience. When you spend almost $80 on sushi, you’d think they could offer a little spicy mayo without an extra charge. disappointing.
Nice buzzy sushi with really good unusual Maki and other small plates.

We came for dinner on a winter Thursday and were seated right away. The cocktails were good, and the specialty rolls were really creative. We enjoyed the shishito pepper appetizer, and shared the Old Bae, Black Magic, New Spicy Tuna and a really tasty roll with Chilean sea bass that I forget the name of! We'll definitely come back. Note, they do not take reservations.

The Sweet Russet roll was amazing, had crispy potato flakes on the outside of the roll with salmon and eel on the inside. It was *chef's kiss*. Same with the spicy tuna roll. Both rolls tasted so fresh, even getting it to go, bet it tastes even better in the restaurant. Can't wait to have time to sit inside and eat!
Dietary restrictions: They are IBS friendly as most raw fish and rice is. But avocado is a specific trigger for me and they replaced the avocado in my rolls with cucumber so they were perfect.
Parking: It's downtown Kentlands so the street parking was full close to lunch time, of course. The walk was worth it, though.

Incredibly delicious and impeccably presented dishes. Every single thing is a winner. It is obvious from the start that they care about every detail of their business and their food.
The CARE that each dish is made with will boggle—everything is cut/cooked with stunning precision, the vegetables are cut into flowers, the sauces are thoughtfully applied, and even the dish each item is served on is perfectly selected to enhance the experience.
In a very convenient, bustling location with nice ambiance without any stuffiness or pretense—honestly, just incredibly delicious food and completely lovely service start to finish. KENAKI is now one of my favorite places!
Vegetarian options: The roasted beets were deeply delicious and satisfying and the tofu dishes were both creamy and crispy—perfectly seasoned and everything you could ever ask for. Vegetarians will be very happy with the yummy selections available.

This place is awesome we have been here countless times and it is reliably good sushi. Their kale salad and warm blueberry sweet is stuff of heaven, very friendly nice staff and overall a good time for a decent price. You won't regret going here for sure

Hands down the best sushi in Maryland. Kenaki’s quality comes not only from their top-notch fish and tender rice, but also their innovative menu. Their salmon nigiri is divine. And their Black Magic roll really is black magic.
However, I recommend avoiding peak hours, as the quality of their preparation does go down a bit.
