This is my absolute favorite breakfast sandwich shop in Maryland! I found it searching for Ube flavored items. I quickly learned that Ube is commonly used in Filipino cuisine so it didn't take me long to find Lapu Lapu. It is hidden away in the Kentland Shopping Center. The hours are only for breakfast and lunch so get there early and double check the day of the week. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Customer service is always great. The inside of the kitchen/ordering station is loud but the employees are always friendly with great recommendations. I have met the owner before and he is always kind and welcoming.
The restaurant's seating area is nicely decorated and welcoming. Often, I plan to take it to go but once I am there, I am inclined to sit and enjoy my fresh sandwich and Ube affogato or soft serve ice cream.
The chicken lumpia is a great appetizer with a sweet sauce on the side. The spam sandwich is great. The bistek sandwich is my favorite. Both sandwiches usually end in a mess but a delicious mess, nonetheless.

Lapu Lapu offers a really good experience, especially with their unique Filipino breakfast sandwiches, which are a fantastic way to try something different for breakfast. The menu is quite extensive, and the tater tots are great - truly excellent. I appreciate the walk-up window setup and the abundance of outdoor seating, making it perfect for enjoying the weather. And for a sweet finish, their ube soft serve ice cream is a must-try dessert.

It's pretty unique & enjoyable. However, price's a bit steep considering how small the portions are here. For the same price, I'd rather get the same Filipino dishes that gives 3x bigger portion.
Bistek - Lemon Soy Ribeye, Fried Egg, Pickled Onions, White American Cheese Sauce, Lettuce, Garlic Adobo Mayo. This burger's pretty good. Once again, my only complaint is the lack of meat. It felt more like a fancy fried egg burger with ribeye as its topping.
Paksiw - Sweet Soy Braised Pork, Pickles, Fried Egg. This is their best seller. It's sweet and savory, like sloppy joe. It does get a bit fatty, so don't get it if you don't enjoy pork belly.
Third time coming….and It’s over priced and the ice cream flavor isn’t consistent. I asked multiple times to add avocado on my sandwich only to receive it without. The cashier never hears my name correctly and seems focused on something else. I think this place is worth an initial try but every time I order more than ice cream my order gets messed up. It’s really disappointing.

Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the area! When I have friends come in from out of town, I take them here every time. Every sandwich I've gotten with scrambled eggs here has had perfectly soft scrambled eggs which can be hard to get right! The bacon egg and cheese, spam egg and cheese and bistek sandwiches are my favorite!
Their ube soft serve icecream is also to die for! Sometimes I'll come just for the ice cream!
