My family and I enjoy the delicious catfish, pork chop dinners and siders monthly very much. The menu drinks are very good too.

My experience at Ms.Miss Toyas in the past at the Rio location had been really good up until my most recent visit this past Friday. The food was SO disappointing. I ordered the catfish, greens, macaroni cheese. The fish was overcooked, the greens had no seasoning at all, and the Mac and cheese was so watery I had to send it back. There’s rest room wasn’t clean. It’s really gone down at this location. There’s no comparison to the location Silver Spring which is very upscale and the food at their location is very good. I will definitely not be returning here. Only the location in Silver Spring.

The rio locations is not at all what it’s advertised to be, even the aesthetics (looks like a carry out spot) Online house says 10pm, get there at 8:50pm and told they’re only doing take out bc they store closing down at 9:15pm? The menu also differs from the menu shown online, settled for the Cajun pasta. Most mid pasta I’ve ever had. Seriously don’t recommend
My first order from Miss Toya’s. Service on my take out order was prompt and friendly. My order was a side of cabbage and crispy salmon bites. The cabbage did not satisfy my taste for southern fried cabbage, they were a bit salty and there was a spice blend that I didn’t care for. The salmon bites were tasty, but truly overpowered by the sauce. The next time I will request sauce on the side. I didn’t get an authentic creole taste from either of the items I ordered. Although I didn’t get the taste, I was craving, but I will try them again.

Yeah, I’m sorry but as a southern woman I had to let it be known. If you’re looking for southern you’re better off going to Carolina Kitchen if we’re speaking on franchises.
Wings seem to be frozen with too much better and not enough crisp. The sauce was way too salty of a buffalo to enjoy. Skip those.
The deviled eggs, despite the price only come in a serving of 4. That baffled me and it’s way too sweet needs more mustard & maybe a touch of dill relish or something to counteract the sweetness.
The jambalaya rice…again…sweet. Having to constantly pick out the twigs, leafs & bones. With all you can visually see in the mix it still lacked a good flavor. The sausage did not much have much flavor as it was, but overall way too sweet & not enough Cajun - grab Bojangles next time.
With the insane prices and lack of quality I definitely won’t try it a second time.

They make your food hot but it’s never correct. The Gaithersburg location doesn’t seem to care to make the food the way a customer has ordered and paid for. 3 different times over long periods in between they have gotten my orders wrong. This last time they had the nerve to give me something barely hot and looked like someone ate out of already. Miss Toya needs better staff. Staff that wants to be there and pay attention.

This place was amazing! The food was delicious but the service was even better! Shoutout to Natalie! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel like we were old friends enjoying brunch together. She was informative, attentive, professional and friendly! I had the catfish with mac&cheese and the honey cornbread with the crab meat deviled eggs to start. Everything was cooked to perfection and the honey cornbread is sooo good, you can’t just eat one. We will definitely visit again.

This place is slept on. It seems always empty before we go in, but it picks up after. Maybe people are waiting for someone to go in, who knows. I love the food when we go. I've tried their catfish, gumbo and shrimp & grits. The bottle drinks are great too. Southern Punch my fav.

We visited Miss Toya’s from GA so we had strict expectations. Miss Toya’s meet the expectations. The chicken and collard greens were delicious. I’m not too big of a fan of the Mac but it was ok. Overall, it was good food and great service. Cocktails were great as well. Cedric, our server, is such a hard worker and provided amazing service. We’d come back just for him.

First time here. Excellent service from the gentleman behind the bar! Look forward to coming back often!
I only get to go because I live close but when I walk in and look around it doesn’t make me wanna sit and eat. Food is very delicious. I get fried catfish with Mac and collard greens.
I'll be back! I got takeout here on a Saturday night about 6 pm: southern fried catfish, jambalaya, and collard greens. The service was quick (less than 15 min) and the food was great. Although it felt a little overpriced, that's how I feel about most places these days. So not out of the ordinary. Worth checking out!
I have ordered from this restaurant from both door dash and uber and BOTH times they have messed up My order and not included everything purchased.
My experience is always fantastic at this restaurant. Be sure to make your reservation because it fills up quickly at dinner time!
