I’ve visited Tacos El Pariente in Gaithersburg multiple times, and this place delivers every single time! Whether you’re craving their famous Birria Tacos with Consomé or classics like Carnitas, Chorizo, and Asada, the food is always on point. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the Jarritos are always cold – what more could you ask for?
The service is quick and friendly, making every visit smooth and enjoyable. If you’re a taco lover, this spot is a must. Can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend.

I am a customer for many years, we have even had the food truck for birthday parties at our house. We have always shopped in Germantown and the truth is that it is very busy there. I understand that sometimes they don't answer the phone if they are full (it's understandable). But a new location opened near my house in Gaithersburg and the girl who answers the phone offers terrible customer service. I called at 7:15PM and they put me on hold and they never answered. This is the second time that the same situation has happened to me, unlike the first time I deigned to go to the restaurant thinking that they were very busy. But I get there and there is literally no one, just one person waiting. When I arrived I wanted to order beef tacos and they told me they didn't have meat. The second excuse they gave me is that I arrived “very late” at 7:30PM. I knew that all this was an excuse not to attend to me; because even if it was at 6:30PM they wouldn't have had a license anyway. I let it go because it was the first time something like this happened with TACOS AL PARIENTE. I understand that many times after a long day of work as an employee/owner what you want is to go home and rest. But if that is the situation they should change their online schedules and not put the customer through these bad times. I come back and repeat, the food is Excellent and I have never had a bad experience, but in the town of Gaithersburg they need to pay attention to this because looking at the comments I am not the only one who complains about this situation.

The food is good but the service is terrible. I've been calling since 7:30 and they don't answer the phone. The other time I called at 7:10 they left me on hold and after 15 minutes they cut off my call if they don't want to answer they should change the closing time I don't know if the owner is aware that the staff closes the restaurant almost once hour before.
Best birria I have had. The smell driving back was so incredible I could barely make it home.

The place feels very familiar and the service is pleasant and the food has very good flavor. The birria combo is exquisite and the gorditas de carnitas are not to be missed. They have good prices and a good size.
Kid-friendliness: The place is spacious and familiar.

The food is AMAZING!?, tried the “Sopes de carne del pastor”. Marvellous, including the Horchata drink. Nonetheless best options in my opinion. The atmosphere has good personality with lively/kind wokers, 10/10 would recommend!!!

I had an appointment nearby and stopped in here, what a great experience! The birria special #1 was delicious, super-tender pulled beef, two flavorful salsas and a hearty broth, plus the traditional onions, cilantro, cucumbers, radishes and pepper. The coffee came Mexican style with sugar and spices. Really friendly and helpful service too. I’ve lived in Mexico and this place took me back there ???

Great little low key place for tacos and other Tex Mex grub. Green sauce is da bomb. Red is ? even for me and I like spicy. Get the pulled beef and asada when in doubt.
