Came here for lunch and had a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful with a nice atmosphere and was busy the whole time we were there. The staff were attentive despite how busy it was. The food was delicious — the beef in my dish was especially tender and perfectly cooked. A great spot to visit with family or a group of friends.

Worst experience ever, I went with my wife on a Wednesday at 7pm, it was a little busy not much tho, the food was cold, and when they took it to heat it again they burnt the rice and lime and the pork was a still a bit cold from the middle. And my wife got a Carne asada AND THEY didn’t give her rise or beans which is included in the plate! She ate only the Carne/meat. And food was mid not even good. The manager came but was not helpful at all. And the guy serving was arrogant that way he spoke and explained that the carne asada plate I have to ask them to bring beans and rise when is included in the plate!!!!!! Worst experience I don’t recommend going there if you don’t want a bad experience. The manager discounted $15 for the mistake they made But said that they are not supposed to do anything about it. Which is their problem not mine!.

First time at uncle julios and it was a wonderful experience the atmosphere mimicked that of a South American home with warm lighting and bricked structure, it was well spaced out per table and service was amazing. I had the tomattio enchiladas and they were fresh and delicious i also had a strawberry basil lemonade that was well flavored but also not overly sweet. Would highly recommend.

Overall - good service and food.
2 suggestions for management -
(a) reduce the amount of tortilla chips placed on the table as most tables around us did not finish the giant bowl of chips - replenish if needed to prevent unnecessary food waste.
(b) clean the air vents please, the dust bunnies were ready to jump down to the tables.

This place has gone extremely downhill. Used to be a family staple, now an over-priced novelty with tasteless food and a soulless environment. Needs fixing

My wife and I went for an early dinner, at about 4:30 on a Friday night. The hostess and wait staff seemed lackadaisical. At first we were seated at a table in the center of a large open area, where a family with an infant we're seated at the next table. I asked the hostess if we could have a booth away from young children and the staff were very helpful in reseating us.
We then got a waiter who was simultaneously training a young woman. They were helpful but it became a bit confusing when they started tag-teamimg us when it got busy closer to six pm.
The queso was very tasty and chips and salsa were tasty. We both got the two enchilada meal and I was very disappointed with the portions. The rice and beans were rather bland and the enchiladas were both small and unremarkable. However... We got the churro and churro cake... Amazing, just indescribably delicious.
The atmosphere is bland corporate restaurant. I don't recall a single feature. The Rio was incredibly crowded compared to the venues we frequent. The weather was terrible with ice and snow everywhere impeding traffic and pedestrians alike.
Despite the amazing dessert, I don't think we will return.

I had a really great experience at Uncle Julio’s. I sat at the bar, and the bartenders were very friendly, attentive, and checked in on me consistently without being overwhelming. The service felt welcoming and relaxed.
The food was excellent. I ordered the birria quesadilla, and it was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. I also ordered extra queso with my chips and salsa, and they included sautéed onions on the side, which was such a nice touch. The onions added extra flavor and really elevated the whole experience.
Overall, great service, great food, and a comfortable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

I have been here twice—the first experience (dine-in) was OK. The second time tonight (pick-up) was abysmal. There was a chaotic disorderly gaggle at the check-in table with no attempt by staff or management to help with check-ins. Once I finally got my food and brought it home, my two “cheese” enchiladas I ordered ended up being one chicken and one beef enchilada. I am a vegetarian, so thanks to Uncle Julio’s I waited in that long gaggle to have the side of rice for dinner (the beans unexpectedly had pork in them—not that uncommon, but a warning on the menu would have been nice). I was born and raised in Texas and know real Tex-Mex… I would not recommend Uncle Julio’s.

My wife and my mother-in-law took my girls (ages 4 & 7) to lunch yesterday at Uncle Julio’s. When she got home, she proceeded to tell me how miserable their experience was.

They ordered fajitas, a quesadilla, and a kids ground beef taco…. Then after waiting for 50 minutes they asked the waiter (a young kid) for an update on their order and he walked right over to the computer, put something in, then the food appeared 20 minutes later… so he obviously forgot to put in the order. After 70 minutes they got their food… And when it did come out, the order was wrong but the waiter never came back to check on them, so my daughter ate the pulled chicken taco instead.

The final straw was when my wife flagged him down to ask for the check, he dropped it off but never went back to pick it up… so my wife walked to the front (where the waiter was socializing with coworkers) and gave it to the manager, explained her frustration and was simply told “he would speak with him”…. No apologies, no discount, nothing. My wife left a full tip because she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body… so she paid ~$105 on a terrible lunch experience.

We have been rewards members for years, my firm goes there for group lunches once a month, and am at the point where we are rethinking where we go for fajitas and margaritas from this point on unless something changes.

Always different managers, always different wait staff… the turnover is insane and it shows in how the restaurant is run. Terrible experience.

The food was tasty, our party of 4 enjoyed the food dispite the waitress being annoyed by our questions of the menu. The tacos and Quesadillas were tasty. The problem is that I suffered food poisoning from the Ground meat tacos.
