Zam Zam Persian Grocery in Gaithersburg, MD, is celebrated for its diverse selection of Middle Eastern foods and groceries, particularly Persian cuisine. Their kebabs are a standout, known for being tasty and generously portioned. The store also features a variety of traditional dishes, including the rich and flavorful Fesenjan, a classic Persian stew made with walnuts and pomegranate. With its extensive grocery collection, fresh produce, halal meats, and imported items, Zam Zam is a top choice for anyone seeking authentic Middle Eastern culinary experiences.

Entering this review after the 3rd try.The food portion is enough however it's low-quality food. Don't mind the price but did not get the value for the price.

I used to love this place but the prices have gone up substantially and continue to go up either daily or weekly compared to general inflation and compared to other establishments. I think it's time to say enough is enough and have found two other establishments that are far more competitive.Yes, I'm only one customer that you may not care about but I was spending in excess of $1,500/year at your location, which may not sound a lot but it's ok. Good luck to you guys.

I was surprised by how much I loved my falafel wrap at Zam Zam Market. This was the first wrap I have had in Maryland that reminded me of Israel. Zam Zam Market has a wide variety of Middle Eastern grocery items and pastries. Space is very cramped inside as they have fit racks of groceries tightly in the store. To order a hot and ready item, you can order at the register. Behind the register is a menu so you can see the food options. I ordered a falafel wrap and asked for it to be made dairy free. The wrap was made in 5 minutes. They made sure to not put sauce on the wrap, and instead but the dairy sauce on the side. I do wish the wrap had a sauce option that was vegan like hummus or a spicy red sauce. It was a little dry with nothing. That falafel though made this wrap totally worth ordering The falafel was so light and perfectly flavored. Finally a falafel ball that is not burnt on the outside, dried out, or just tastes like parsley. This falafel was everything I could have dreamed of, and I will certainly order it again. Next time I visit Zam Zam not only will I bring a shopping bag to grocery shop, but I also look forward to another authentic falafel wrap. I would give this spot 5 stars if they could provide a vegan sauce for the falafel. Then my experience would be perfect.

Great Persian grocer. The kebab is tasty and you get a lot for the price -- just specify if you don't want bread, because it's included. Very fresh, sauces are killer. Loads of interesting groceries, basically anything you could want if you're cooking Turkish, Persian, or other Western Asian food. Awesome tea selection, great prices on cheese and dairy. There's halal meat in the back freezer, too.Dietary restrictions: Halal meat available for purchase for cooking as well as in the meal.

Friendly staff and great selection, however, the prices continue to increase higher than their competition. I think everyone is using inflation as an excuse to raise prices beyond the call of duty.We used to spend between $125-$200/month at this location but we now take a short drive once/month and go to Virginia (Fallschurch area) and stock up. Their prices are 35-60% lower on the same selections. I'm sorry, you guys were great throughout the years but your price increases will continue to push people to other establishments who remain competitive.

Nice friendly staff but when purchasing any items; please do check the expiry dates of their items as 4/10 times the stuff/packet items which are available in the shop are either expired or very close to expiry date. The prices are a little more expensive than other stores but I don't mind that because of the ease in the neighborhood but selling products beyond expiry dates is not acceptable.

I can only echo what other reviewers have said. Ordered the beef kubideh, which was fantastic, and came with a Yon of rice, flatbread, and a sauce similar to tzatziki, but with some mint. Cashier was super friendly, told me it would be ready in 15 minutes, which was spot on. I do not mind waiting for quality, freshness, and flavor, and it was definitely worth the wait
