Penn Alps Restaurant & Craft Shop

Have passed this on many occasions and have finally had the opportunity to stop in here - not only once, but twice over a two day period. The food and service were excellent. We had to come back.

For lunch I had the cheeseburger. It was made with fresh ground beef, and it was delicious. Also had a side of coleslaw, which was fantastic. Homemade chips were crunchy and hit the spot. It was so good. I had it the second time I came again. I also had the blackberry cobbler, which was excellent! Also great pricing on the menu.

Great service from Rebecca and the rest of the team working here. We brought a large group of nine people on the second time and they quickly and easily accommodated us. Food was out quickly, and it was hot and delicious.

There is also a gift shop in the lobby, but I did not go there. Several people in the group went inside and said it was fun to walk around. Give yourself extra time as you will want to walk around in the Spruce Forest Artisan Village. These artisans are really talented.

So stop by have a great meal, great service and do a little shopping to support your artisans.

First: 5 stars to the staff as they are polite & friendly! 🙂 5 stars for cleanliness in the restaurant & bathrooms. 1-2 stars for the price of food & quality. Frozen food in the grocery store tastes better than what they serve! This is a tourist place & you're going to get meager to low tasting fare. If we come back, we're bringing our own food to eat (picnic).

This food was so good! Even the fish was terrific!

I'm not sure if we came here on a day where everyone happened to be off of their ordinary, but after the drive to get here, the service was pretty disappointing. Staff weren't mean, but I can't say they were friendly. Our table was sat closest to the kitchen, where multiple employees hung out talking without noticing us needing refills, etc.

My go to local buffet.

The seafood buffet on Fridays is always good. The wait staff have been with them a long time, and all are friendly. We don't go all the time, and it's always a surprise when Diane remembers our drinks. 😄

We won't on a Saturday, apparently they only have a limited menu and push the buffet on you. The buffet doesn't really have much to choose from; Ham, chicken wing, and some other kind of meat I didn't and couldn't recognize, rolls are not homemade and desserts aren't the best. Pleasant atmosphere and staff. I would give it another shot, but it would be during the week only. I don't want the buffet again. I was not impressed whatsoever.

Great food, and they also have gift shops and additional cabins to tour. The cabbage rolls are delicious and the mashed potatoes were real and not powder!

Do yourself a favor and stroll around the gift shop and artist village before getting back in the car.

Nice place to stop while traveling. Cute buildings with local artists ware. Did not eat there.
