What a gem! My husband and I were in our way back to Virginia and found this place on Google maps. They have a buffer and main menu options. We went with the latter and it was so good! We had a Reuben sandwich and Deep fried Shrimps. You had an access to the salad bar ordering an Entree and it is BIG! A huge variety of veggies, dressings, beans & pickled vegetables. We loved the Swiss room on a sunny day.
Set in the pristine hills of Grantsville, Maryland, Penn Alps is a welcoming, well‑kept focal point for art and community. The drive is scenic no matter which route you take. Inside, there’s ample seating with cozy, rustic furniture crafted by local artists, spotless restrooms, and a fantastic gift shop filled with handcrafted pieces. The dining room includes both a spacious hall and a quiet nook with large picture windows—perfect for unwinding and escaping the everyday...
I had driven by this place once or twice over the years. It's over 3 hours from my house. Today I made a point to stop for lunch. I had the Reuben. The sauerkraut was delicious. I also ordered oatmeal cake for dessert. YUM!
