Came here with my daughter on a Sunday, so it was a bit busy, which was expected cause of the football game and the recent past holiday. So our server wasn't available to take orders until about 30 minutes later. I'm writing this review because I encountered a wonderful young lady named Z. She was the host who sat us. She had excellent customer service skills and didn't mind taking our drink and appetizer order while we waited on the server. Honestly, I wish I could tip her instead of the waiter, cause he was hardly available. and it wasn't crowded, only the bar area.

Bartender was very rude to my daughter. Went last night and he was more focused on the football game, forgot to make my daughter drink and when she approached him he cussed at her twice and made a spectacle of her in front of other patrons. Unacceptable behavior from him. He belittled her and the other patrons found humor in his behavior.

My buddies and I love Hook n Reel. Mo is one of the best and most attentive servers I’ve ever had at a dining experience. We come back weekly just for her service. Thank you Mo!

I love the customer service, from the front desk rep to the waiter. Its affordable and its great food me and my family always enjoy. Plus the music makes me dance and i love happy hour drinks.

The sauce is good. The rice and broccoli and sausage are good. I didn’t like the texture of the corn. The crab legs themselves were really bad. They were freezer burned, really small, and overcooked. They tasted old and dry. Out of the small two clusters that I had, I literally could not open two legs because they would just twist and bend because the shell was so old. I may have to try a different location.

Initially sat at the bar but the bartender was very inattentive. Got my drink wrong. Never gave me the water or the old bay season that I asked for. Overall Terrible service. Took my food and asked to be sat a table. Zee immediately accommodated me, brung me water and attended to my needs. I also watched her take care of and seat everyone that came through the door as well as run to the back for mobile delivery orders. She was very pleasant and respectful to everyone who entered the doors of this Hook & reel. She truly takes pride in customer service & she deserves a raise. Thank you Zee!!
We left after ordering drinks. It was too loud to stay for dinner.

Dear Hook and Reel Corporate Management,
I am writing to formally document and escalate a deeply concerning incident that occurred during my visit to your Greenbelt MD location on Thursday night, 10/30/25 around 8:30pm. What transpired was not only unacceptable from a customer service standpoint, but it also raised serious concerns about discriminatory practices within the staff at this location.
My party and I were seated promptly, but for more than 30 minutes afterward, we were not acknowledged, greeted, or offered any service. During this time, I observed multiple staff members walking past our table and immediately assisting other guests who had arrived well after we did—none of whom were of our race. The contrast in treatment was both unmistakable and alarming.
At one point, a server approached our table, made direct eye contact with us, then turned away without a word and proceeded to assist another group. After repeatedly checking with the hostess to confirm that our table had not been overlooked, we were eventually approached by a Caucasian server we had not seen at any point earlier in the evening. Only then, after more than half an hour of being ignored, were we able to place our order.
This experience was unsettling, humiliating, and entirely inconsistent with the standards any customer should expect let alone from an establishment operating under your brand. The pattern of behavior we witnessed suggests the possibility of discriminatory conduct, which is a serious matter requiring immediate investigation and corrective action.
I am requesting the following from corporate management:
1. A formal written response acknowledging this complaint.
2. Confirmation this will be investigated, including a review of staff conduct and any relevant footage or records.
3. Information on steps your organization will take to ensure that no customer ever experiences similar treatment at this location.
I trust that your company values inclusivity, fairness, and professionalism, and I expect that this matter will be handled with the seriousness it warrants.
