My quick go to for sushi night

Raquel Sánchez

Good experience!

I seldom leave bad reviews. But I feel if I didn’t say something, someone else would walk in thinking this place can’t be too bad. It’s bad. I bought $60 worth of sushi and left 80% of it on the table. The quality is terrible. The salmon was so discolored it looked beige. The tuna was faded. Nothing was fresh—actually, I take that back. The avocados were fresh. Probably because you can’t freeze them. That’s about it.

They do not take Amex, which was a surprise as I don’t have another cc. So that was fun. Also there was one person working there. He handled orders, waiting, money, AND making the food. He was also pretty rude. Not his fault that he’s alone tho, but still—it’s a one man shop in there.

The fish is definitely all frozen and far from fresh. I’m not even a sushi snob but this was barely edible.

This spot is lovely we enjoy going here for the authentic experience and to support this small Buisness. We are so lucky to have this spot near by.

Went to have dinner with friends, the service was terrible and we were the only ones in the restaurant. It was 7:30 and they close at 9pm the waiter was rushing us and ready for us to leave. Didn’t even service us only brought us our food to the table. No refills or any communication of any kind. I paid the bill for the waiter or owner who knows says “you’re not going to tip more?” I think people forget that tipping is not a requirement. You need to do your job and a GOOD one at that to be tipped. Also people may not have the funds to tip especially after terrible service. He is lucky I even tipped him at all after that comment. The he walked about bad mouthing me! This is unacceptable and very rude! You need to do better or you won’t have any customers. He also rejected a take out order before 1 hour to close. Again do better or you will lose customers because I will not be here again.

Comparing to other sushi spots it was just okay. The volcano roll is there best sushi imo. It's a good spot to go if you're in the area and you know of no other place.

Hidden Gem (at least I didn’t know about it lol) I happened upon it and decided to give it a shot. I was the only diner so I had the place to myself.

Solid sushi without the pomp and circumstance. Volcano roll was good!

Will go here regularly.

This was one of the first places I ever tried sushi way back in high school over 15 years ago and it was the place I became addicted to the Philly roll. My high school best friend and I were both back in town a few weeks ago and were elated to find that this gem is still going strong! The sushi is just as delicious as I remember and I tried the mushroom soup and it did not disappoint. This will forever be one of my favorite sushi spots. The prices are very affordable, environment is cozy and quaint, and the portions are fantastic! I was surprised to find that they even offer white tuna sashimi on the menu for a good price and portion, which I find is typically overpriced at the few places I do find it. Highly recommend!

This is a good affordable sushi option in greenbelt. The food was substantial and flavorful. My critique would be that the sushi could be crafted better. Our yellowtail nigiri, and eel and butterfly rolls were falling apart. Not the worst thing. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing but could use some updating. The service was the best, food came out timely and our waitress was very nice. We even managed to spend less that $100 which is rare for me and sushi.
I would recommend the yammi roll, salmon with caviar, and unagi maki roll.

I really wanted to try this place and like it bc I love sushi. Came in at lunch time. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, but I looked at the menu and decided I wanted to stay. So I went back to the car to unload my baby and get my husband. When we walked in we weren’t greeted again so I said hi and the person replied back very annoyed. Also the establishment was practically desolate with only 1 other couple. The waiter said he had a lot of orders was backed up and it would take a while but we still said that’s okay and sat down. After that we weren’t offered water or anything and it pretty much felt like we were disregarded as he went back to work. The service was really bad. Maybe I caught him on a bad day but the vibe was awful. We left and went to ruby Tuesday across from it and the customer service was a million times better & the food was good too. Maybe I have to try again but I did also see another person in the reviews with the same experience.
