To preface this by saying we have eaten here for years & have I don’t believe ever had a bad meal. This one wasn’t bad food but abysmal service . Which also has never been an issue. I would say we’re putting them on probation and will try again. I see from other reviews there have been some issues and maybe that’s ok if the food wasn’t pricey… but it is pricey. The main food was good but the s potato fries were burnt and not good and normally they are amazing. This was a wknd eve but the dining room wasn’t crowded but… only two waiters who were obviously struggling. They seemed to be overwhelmed with carry out? Anyway not sure but I know everyone is having issues with hiring etc in food service so again we will return just know the food is expensive and the fries were not worth $7. If you know you’re struggling then cut off carry out for an hour or something or say hey service wasn’t up to our standard so maybe we can comp you the fries or something…sadly these days we can’t drop $ on eating out if it isn’t worth the cost

This review is many, many years overdue but Cafe Del Sol has been my #1 spot for so long. Its my go-to recommendation for a guaranteed good meal and good service. I dont remember when I started coming but I ate here for my 18th birthday back in 2007 and have been steadily returning ever since. The chicken caesar wrap has a chokehold on me, so much so that I have a hard time ever ordering anything else. I've had the pizza, chicken parm, nachos, and pesto panini which are all great and I highly recommend but the chicken caesar wrap is unmatched. I'm being dramatic but if it was ever taken off the menu or changed it would probably ruin my life. It's at the top of my list of favorite foods and I've gone to great lengths to make sure I can enjoy it, even when I lived thousands of miles away. I spent 5 years living in California and dare I admit that numerous times in those 5 years I made family members go through security and fly cross-country with a chicken caesar wrap in tow to get my fix. These days I don't have a Cafe Del Sol local to me (up around Carlisle) but I order take out as often as I can when I pass through. I cant recommend this place enough. As a self proclaimed chicken caesar connoisseur your going to have to trust me that their caesar wrap is unmatched. Its a must if you're in Hagerstown, Chambersburg, the surrounding areas, or passing through!

Love the California salad, I get salsa in addition to the jalapeño ranch. Always fresh and consistently good. Panini sandwiches are good, nachos are good, quesadillas are good, especially the one with chorizo.

Food is expensive but it is good. Strawberry tres leches for $9 however is a one and done for me since it is just super small for the price. Cheesesteak sandwich was good crab fries are good as well

For a restaurant named after the sun, it was so dark in there at lunchtime, I could barely see my husband's face across the table. The paninis were excellent. The tomato gouda bisque was the consistency of grainy sludge and heavy on the hickory flavoring. My husband says the freshly made kettle chips were very good. The spring greens salad was drowned in dressing--I should have asked to have the dressing on the side. Our waitress was very attentive. We might get carryout paninis from here, but neither of us want to sit in the dreary dark.
Greeted by a waiter, was extremely rude. Sat at a booth waited 45 minutes for service and we left. I can understand 5:00-600pm being busy but there was only a few tables occupied . Waiter obviously seen us sitting next to his other table and refused to say anything when we walked out. Was pretty excited to try the food but the service was very poor. Would highly not recommend dine in.

I got the Pesto Panini and my wife got the Cabo Sandwich. My son got a 10in Pepperoni pizza and my other son got a Quesadilla. Everything was amazing! We have been customers for 15 years. We have never had a bad meal from Cafe del Sol. This where we take family when they visit from our of town!
