A serious contender as the worst Chinese buffet in Maryland. The food was dry, appeared to have been sitting out for far too long. These photos were taken just before 3pm on 03/26/2024. When I asked, on behalf of myself and the other customers if they planned on restocking the buffet, the hostess stated that the food is being cooked. I understand that this is between lunch and dinner, but this is an unacceptable state to keep food meant for human consumption.

So we went to China Buffet in the south end. I guess they call it a buffet I sure wouldn't! When we got there it took forever to get our drinks then when we walked up to the so called buffet there was hardly any food! The food they did have was dried up and sticking to the pan. My husband will eat anything so the whole time we were there he ate a few things where as I didn't eat anything. Then the bathroom there was three stalls only one was working and when I tell you I have seen cleaner Port a potties that are located downtown that would be cleaner! I can't for the life of me understand how this place is still open!

Went for Lunch Buffet around 12:30 today (Tuesday). Paid $30 for 2 adult 2 kids with water. I liked the lo mein, general tso’s, egg rolls, and wontons, which is mainly what I go for anyways. Wontons were just slightly sweet compared to others I’ve had, but tasted pretty much the same. I tried some of their other options and liked most of it. Was bummed about the sweet and sour sauce, almost likeit has a weird cherry taste and not what I was expecting, they need to take that out. However, the chicken was delicious without it, that tempura crisp. My kid was gobbling it down. Salad bar was mehh..Lettuce needed changed out and my wife ended up not making one. Bathrooms need some maintenance but relatively clean. I’m not bashing them at all. Seemed to not be very busy and so they aren’t gonna swap stuff out that isn’t being eaten. They didn’t have any rice out that I saw which was kind of weird. Wish they’d have that as an option. Atmosphere is calm. I believe it was just light radio music. Idk why people say they don’t bring fresh stuff out because I got some steaming hot general tso’s when one of the chef’s came out and refilled it. You just can’t expect to fill a big plate up and it all stay warm. The host was very nice and doing all she could really on a Tuesday. People constantly going up to pay, Doordash orders etc. I will go back. They have room for improvement, but the location probably makes it hard for them with all of the other restaurants on the strip there. If they had more business and change their selection a bit they would do much better. That location is tough.

I almost never write reviews, but I felt inclined to do so after I visited this restaurant. When we first got there, about HALF of the food trays were empty or only about one scoop left. All of the food was lukewarm. I saw only two trays being refilled by the time we got there. We had to ASK for our drinks as well, this was after about ten minutes of being there. There was no rice in the rice cookers. The bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned since 1990. I only gave two stars because my review was harsh enough.

Worst buffet/take out to date in my life. Food at buffet was either way overcooked and burned or undercooked and still cold. The lady even confirmed we would have food poisoning. Even had the take out which is just as bad. Not worth it.
