I’m grateful they had some vegetarian options for meals but it was disappointing that basically everything else had meat or utilized animal products (specifically referring to their soups and one of the rolls) so even if you got a vegetarian entree you couldn’t get the “meal” because it was made with animal products.

The server was very kind and they did their best to accommodate us. I will say the restaurant inside is a bit rundown and tired.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. The quality of food is superb. I haven't had Chinese food this good since I left New York. The prices are great, the staff is kind, and you get lots of food for what you pay for.

The food was delicious. The waitress was friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the egg rolls. I would return strictly for the egg rolls. The building is old, but the bathroom was clean. It's not to Ritz-Carlton, but old school chinese food that's good.

I believe this is the best Chinese restaurant in Hagerstown been going here for 5 years now. And the fact that it's locally owned by local business people the people who owned the imperial with local and I know this for a fact because my daughter graduated with her daughter.

Just moved to Hagerstown from Germantown. Read the reviews- thought I’d give it a try. First of all, I don’t know what y’all’s definition of good Chinese food is. I always get General tsos. The pieces were big and thick, almost like a short chicken tender- with dry chicken. Sauce was good, rice was okay. Waste of money. Threw it away. Hated the chicken.

The food was edible but it wasn't good enough for me to want to eat there again. I think I'd have to be starving for Imperial to be a place that comes to mind to eat at.

The food was not that good. Very greasy and undercooked. Got the sweet n sour chicken and the batter was raw in the middle. This used to be our go to, but has gone down hill.

Decided to try someplace different for chinese food and boy did we regret it. Got take out. The beef and broccoli had absolutely no flavor at all. If it wasn't for soy sauce the combination fried rice wouldn't have had any flavor either. My wife ordered sesame chicken and got fried chicken pieces with ketchup for a dipping sauce. First and last time I will order from here. To the owner of this restaurant. Thank you for ruining my dinner for that night.

This was absolutely the most horrible chinese food ever. I ordered sesame chicken and what I got was some kind of breaded chicken with ketchup. The fried rice tasted burnt, the beef with broccoli had no flavor at all and the beef was nothing but chewy and grissle. When I called about my order I was told that this is how they make their sesame chicken as breaded chicken with a dipping sauce. I have never had sesame chicken with ketchup that you try to pass off as dipping sauce. The food was horrible and will never come back here. Would rate as zero if I could.

Order via phone for take out. Had to call 3 times to get someone to answer. Ordered 2 pints of Shrimp Chow mein, an order of egg rolls. When we got our order home we had chicken chow mein and terrible over cooked egg rolls. Have always enjoyed the food but the quality has definitely declined. Don't plan on ordering from them again.

We have been customers of Imperial for many, many years and have always enjoyed the food. We have had consistently good food and service over many years. It’s our “go-to” Chinese restaurant.

This used to be my favorite Chinese food restaurant in the area but I haven't eaten there in awhile. I decided to order today and I have to say it was a complete disappointment. I don't know if ownership changed or different cooks but I ordered General Tso's Chicken and it tasted like over boiled dry chicken, very dry over cooked skin and hardly any flavor to the sauce. I am shocked at how bad it was. I did also get some chicken fried rice and spring rolls and those were good. Feels like something changed here, most likely will not return because the cost has gone up so much yet the food has declined.

I must admit I'm still kicking myself for not dining here before now!!! I have known about the Imperial for many years but just never stopped in. It's a very well established Chinese restaurant in the north end of Hagerstown, Md. It sets back from the road a bit but is very easy to find. There's a big yellow sign out on Pennsylvania avenue. Remember, this was my first time there, but it certainly will not be my last!!! As soon as I entered, I was greeted warmly with a big friendly smile from the hostess. Everything about the place is wonderful. The food, the staff and the atmosphere. As I was waiting on my meal, I was very entertained by watching the hostess literally skipping from the front to the kitchen!!! Let me tell you this lady was just full of life and what I took to be a very happy person. SKIPPING!!! I loved it!! The take out business there was also very brisk. Constant, almost. Anyway, they have a full service bar as well and their cocktail and drink prices are also very reasonable. Most were just $7.75 and large and potent. I had a few Mai Tai's and they were delicious. For my meal I had an appetizer of shrimp toast and the entree was called Seafood Combination in Bird's Nest. It was shrimp, lobster and scallops with vegetables in a bowl shaped nest of crispy taro potatoes. I had the combination which also comes with a shrimp roll and soup of your choice. Their menu is very extensive. It seemed to be a family affair as the husband and children were all pitching in. The interior is very cozy and the chinese music was very relaxing and conducive to having a great experience, which I most certainly did!! I highly recommend giving the Imperial a try if you're in the area or just passing through. It's very easy to get to from both Interstate 81 and also from Interstate 70. You'll be very pleased you did!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!

Parking: Plenty of parking right at the restaurant.

Today was my first time trying food from this restaurant. I ordered sesame chicken with fried rice as takeout. The sesame chicken was a bit disappointing. The way this restaurant serves it is different from other Chinese food restaurants. It was a bit disappointing because of it being too crispy and hard to eat. At most Chinese restaurants it's usually better for me to eat that. The fried rice was good. I would have probably ordered general tso chicken if I like spicy foods but I don't like spicy food. The customer service was great. The guy and the lady working there was very nice. The price that I paid wasn't bad either. I may or may not return to this restaurant in the future. But don't hold your breath on that.
