Have eaten here many times over the years and loved it. This trip, the food was not bad, just not as good as in the past. Steak was ordered medium rare and came out really close to well done. Service was impeccable as always.

The food is great, ESPECIALLY the salads. They are the most beautifully plated, perfectly portioned, and tasty salads I’ve ever had. The manager, Ty, is very good at his job, kind and professional. The owner, Tess, is Nick’s daughter and gives the family restaurant the liveliness it deserves. Live piano music soothes your ears while the food warms your soul.Vegetarian options: There was a quinoa bowl.

Went there for first time after living in area for 30 years. 35th. Anniversary. Had always heard so many wood things and good reviews. My wife had the Crab Cakes and I had a seafood medley casserole. The crab cakes were as my wife put it OK at best. Very mushy inside. My meal had so much garlic and salt that’s all I could taste. Could not taste the shrimp or scallops. The best part of our dish was the salad before our entree. We are very easy too.ease and I have never left a negative review for any restaurant. But after spending over $100 for our meal we were very disappointed and will not return. Kind of a bummer after looking forward all day to going someplace NICE for our 35th.

The room was chilly. Most of the women there had to keep some type of jacket, sweater etc. on to stay warm. Room was noisy, poor acoustics.

A coworker of mine said she loves Nick’s, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered French Onion Soup, salad, a filet mignon, Mediterranean rice, and crème brûlée. The soup was good. The filet mignon was not good. It was not “throwing up bad” but it was not worth the $40 at all. In fact, I would be ashamed to serve it. It was flat, dry, and worst of all, cold. Not even warm. It was presented to me at room temperature, and the rice was just as cold. The crème brûlée was edible, nothing special. Dozens of other places in the area blow this place away on steaks. I love steak and was hoping this would be good, but I will probably go to my go-to Black Rock at the mall, for an always-perfect ribeye the next time I go out for dinner. My partner had the prime rib. Also cold and unimpressive. The atmosphere was good. Unlike other Hagerstown restaurants, there were no baseball caps on backwards, no inappropriately loud laughter or conversation, no purposely ripped, too-tight jeans on women who think those rags make them look good, no tank tops, and no exposed chest hair. The clientele actually looked elegant. So, it deserves at least a four for that category. The food, less than mediocre. The best thing I can say is that at least it did not make me sick. The only way I would go back is if someone else was paying and really, really wanted to go there.

Went for my husband's Christmas party and the dinner was subpar. Had a steak for dinner, asked for medium well and was told it's hard with a large group(understandble). Drinks took forever to come in, no drink menus when we first arrived in the room. This was my first time in Hagerstown and I doubt we'd go back here, not terrible but just not worth the price. Shots alone are insanely priced

I was told by a friend to try out Nick's. The food was outstanding. Best seafood outside of Ocean City for me. The Atlantic salmon with asparagus and hollandaise was particularly good. Perfect calamari. Expect a slightly upscale atmosphere, with a lounge that has piano during dinner.
