I want to like this place so badly. It's a cute little shop in a great location. I've given it three tries, and today they were out of: milkshakes, floats, peanut butter, several hand dipped ice cream flavors, and all soft serve (a hand written sign taped to the front door said they had 3 flavors of soft serve today). I offered to correct the sign if the employee would hand me a marker. He declined and said it's fine. He seemed more interested in perfecting his toss of a pen into a cup than anything to do with selling ice cream. The other employee seemingly misheard my order then had to make a substitution because (surprise!) they didn't have what I paid for. That one issue could be avoided by repeating orders back to the customer before making the items.Save yourself the trouble and go to Big Dipper.

This was a fun find along the Washington County Ice Cream Trail, and I was so surprised to find the ice cream shop on dual highway - I had never noticed it before. The ice cream was very reasonable priced and there were a few different flavors to enjoy. I got Lemon Crunch, and it was delicious. I'll definitely be back again to try some of their other options when I'm nearby.

OMG ... first visit was today and it surely will not be my last. A soft icecream fantastic and I was not disappointed. But they have so many other things to offer including Breakfast and Lunch sandwiches and that's another reason for me to return. The young couple running the store were supper friendly and courteous and helped make for a great experience ... I'm hooked.

Girl moved at a snails pace and the ice cream was icey. It was faster to apply for my marriage license than to get a single scoop of icey ice cream. Staff was friendly, though, and shop was clean. Prices for ice cream are good for portion size tho.

First visit here. I had a banana split, my daughter had an ice cream cone. She enjoyed her ice cream and the size of the serving was generous for the price. They were out of cake cones so they offered her a waffle cone instead but didn't charge her for the upgrade, nice.Pros on the split: The ice cream is local and tastes like it. Homemade texture and flavor, it was fantastic! The split used the 3 traditional flavors, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. All were delicious. The price was also reasonable. $5.99 + .75 cents extra to add wet walnuts, so a large well topped banana split for under $7 doesn't seem unreasonable with today's prices, especially considering how good the ice cream is.Cons on the split: no strawberries, just a strawberry sauce with no actual pieces of strawberry in it; in my opinion, this takes quite a bit away from the banana split; also, the banana on it looked great but was green and too hard and even though I love bananas and eat them daily, the only thing I didn't finish on this banana split was the banana. All in all, a good visit. I'd definitely go back because of the quality and value of the local ice cream, but I'll likely not get the banana split again.
I visited the Ice Cream Shop as a part of the Washington County Ice Cream Trail. I had heard really great reviews from others, but when we arrived, it was far from the ice cream shop feeling that I had hoped for. The ice cream was not displayed in the front of the store as one would imagine and there was nothing inspiring about the menu. I had seen on their Facebook page that they had shakes, but nothing in the store showcased their specialties. The whipped cream was from a can and excess storage of it was in the front as were other supplies. The shop was eerily quiet with no ambiance or noise. It was also odd that an ice cream shop had so many breakfast options and other odd selections that didn't seem to fit the shop. I wanted to love it, but I was left disappointed and hopeful for more.

This is a cute little shop with some of the tastiest ice cream around. I highly recommend the cold brew chip ice cream in particular. This is a must stop in Hagerstown.
