Very loud. Service was spotty never around when you needed them. The scotch baby, the egg wrapped in pork sausage was undercooked. Pork was somewhat raw servers were nice. They just weren't around a lot.
We needed someplace close by amtrak and this was the perfect stop for an early dinner! Food and beer were both delicious. We will definitely come back again!
The service was slow. We had ordered our food before the table next to us and we received our food around the same time.
Wednesday nights are Trivia Night, so beware if you are looking for a quiet group dinner like we were. While they appear to have a bar, you should also be aware that they don't serve any other alcohol except Guinness beer, so the cocktail lover in our group could not be accommodated. Last, not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but our appetizers came out after the meals. We came here because folks were here a few Saturdays ago and everything went well. So maybe it was just a bad night.....
We had a great time....but almost left before we got started. We had reservations, got a table right away, and then sat...and sat....15 min's later one of our group went to find a waiter and we were told to use a QR code to order....ok we are pretty with it, but we all had to get out our phones, our reading glasses, attempt to sign in to find the menu, we had questions about the beers and about the food, we had to try to figure out how to join the table group so we didn't have 5 bills...and just as we were getting fully flustered a very helpful young man came over and said he would be glad to help us...whew!! He was helpful and knowledgeable! He saved the day! We had great beer, delicious food, and a fun time!! Just a suggestion, when you see a more mature group, you may want to send help fast! We order a lot if we get to speak human!
We try to come here at least twice a year. The food is fantastic, service is quick. You order from a code at the table, it's so simple. This time we did the tour and the guide was amazing! Must do!
We love going to the open gate brewery! They're super accommodating, especially because one of our people in our group of eight couldn't sit at a table, so they accommodated us to a lower table, which was amazing! The beer is always great and the food is delicious. I would say the only negative about this is how loud it is in there. Other than that this place is so great.
They need a better system to handle charges for a table when multiple people are paying. The food did not taste that good. It had more salt than necessary trying to cover up the taste.
We ended up going to The Taproom at Guinness Open Gate Brewery for my spouse's birthday. I made reservations a few days in advance. We went on a Sunday for brunch and one day after a big event that was held there. Our party being 5 people we were seated at a booth which was very comfortable with big benches and tables and not crowded. Food is ordered from your phone after taking a picture of the QR code at your table. The food was delicious and there were no issues with our orders. More customers started coming in about an hour after arriving. Highly recommend giving this place a try.
I ordered the turkey panini. The description called for apples and horseradish, but neither were evident on the order. That said, the French fries were great and the service was very good. My friends had a problem ordering. One couldn't get the bacon removed from her tossed salad. I think there are a few kinks to be worked out. This was my second time there and I had no problem ordering. It's not for the technologically challenged, but they will take orders by a real person. But I like how it solves the problem of groups ordering with separate checks.

Always a good time! The staff is friendly, and their service is 'on point'. The food is delicious. The beer is tasty, and the tap-room is a nice place to get together with friends. The Wednesday trivia is the best in the area.
HIRE SOME WAITERS! The ordering and paying experience couldn't be worse. We will not return despite the fact that the food was not bad. We were so frustrated by the order/pay process, with absolutely no one to help, that by the time the food arrived the experience was ruined.
Food & service was great. The experience was a little intimidating for people that are “seniors”. Everything is done online - there are no menus or servers. Luckily our 17-year-old grandson was with us and he managed to place our orders in a New York Minute. While he was explaining it to us, our drinks were served. It was only a few minutes later when our entrees appeared. And to top it off, it was trivia night. All in all, it was a good experience. We will definitely be back, and we'll know how to order too, thanks to our grandson.
Fun and unique, reminiscent of the original in Dublin but with a great Maryland and Baltimore vibe. We've been a few times and enjoy it each visit. This time our group had a few little ones and the space is perfect for them.
Our entire experience at the brewery was wonderful. Although you place your order on your cell phone at the table in the restaurant, servers appear at your table often to see if you need anything else, if you need assistance with your ordering, and if everything is to your satisfaction. In other words, you don't feel abandoned just because you are ordering off an app. It's an efficient system and it works well. we were greeted with smiles and pleasantries from the moment we walked in. The food was reasonably priced, and outstanding. From salads, to stew to dessert , everything was amazing. And don't forget the Guinness! There's a flavor for everyone. It was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back.
