Had an amazingly delicious dinner with 1 of my kids this evening. The only thing that topped the food was the amazing service provided by Brooke, we'll definitely return.

A Hidden Gem in Hancock, MD! While traveling to Washington, DC, my husband and I stumbled upon Buddylous Restaurant, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by an atmosphere that felt both cozy and inviting. The service was nothing short of exceptional—our server was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the menu. Now let’s talk about the food! Each dish was crafted with care and bursting with flavor. It was so good that I found myself wanting to "kiss the chef"! We savored every bite, and by the time we finished, we couldn’t help but promise ourselves to return on our way back home to Michigan. We were so impressed that we shared our experience with our friends, who were also traveling. Knowing I’m a wheelchair user, I was thrilled to see how accommodating the staff was to my needs. When we made our stop at Buddylous with our friends, they echoed our sentiments—Buddylous truly is amazing! If you’re in the area or just passing through, don't miss out on this incredible dining experience. The combination of fantastic service, mouth-watering food, and a warm atmosphere makes Buddylous Restaurant a must-visit!

The place was clean, the service was good but unfortunately the food I ordered was terrible. My crab soup was very salty and curdled, the chicken livers were greasy and so hard I was unable to eat them. However my pups seem to enjoy them when I got home. I was so disappointed, it looked like a place I would enjoy.

Absolutely terrible! Luke warm food at best, server was slow, had to ask for refills on drinks, got our orders wrong. And there were only 3 other people in the whole place! Will never go back

Don't seat people, take their order, and let them sit for an hour if you can't make them food. We sat for over an hour and never even got our appetizers. At that point we asked and realized that they hadn't even started our order and didn't have ingredients thawed out so we left. There were not many customers ahead of us, they didn't lose our ticket or anything, I truly do not understand what happened. If you're that short staffed, just close or only seat a couple tables. The kids were long out of patience and the adults were so so hungry. We had a miserable experience. Combined with the peeling paint on our table, I don't think this establishment cares about their customers. Don't waste hungry people's time.

Stumbled on this restaraunt when searching for somewhere to stop for dinner on our way back to northern Virginia. It was a local restaurant (which we love supporting) and had decent reviews, so my husband and I thought we’d give it a try. I don’t usually leave reviews but felt like
I should share our experience here.

Service was absolutely terrible. Although our server was friendly, he forgot about us several times. He stated he’d be right back to take our order, then took 15-20 minutes to come back and claimed he thought someone else was going to take our order. During this time of waiting, we noticed he was mostly chatting with other staff members. He had mentioned it was a very busy day and the normal manager wasn’t on site, but it did not appear to be busy by the time we were there. It was evident all the staff members wanted to get out of the restaurant (even though we arrived about 70 minutes before closing), and they were talking quite loudly about how they were glad we wouldn’t be getting dessert so they could get home. My husband and I would have loved to have gotten out of there earlier, but it was hard to do so when we couldn’t place our order, had to wait a lengthy amount of time for our entrees, and had to bring the check up to our server since he wasn’t paying any attention to us. Mind you, we were only sitting about 10 feet away from him most of this time. The server was polite, but he offered excuses instead of just apologizing.

The cream of crab soup was really good, but all the other food was nothing special. We got a burger (which wasn’t modified to how it was ordered… not a big deal if the rest of the experience wasn’t so rough), the shrimp and grits, and biscuits and gravy. The gravy was also really good, but the biscuits were incredibly hard. The menu online was different from the menu we were given inside— it was much smaller.

The restaraunt itself had an eclectic and cozy vibe. The food and environment made me leave three stars instead of two. However, it is not enough to make us want to come back. We will not be returning.

They were short staffed, so I’m not going to review the service. But because they were short staffed staffed, food took a while and I got pretty cranky and hangry.

The food was so good that my mood did a 180 and I was really glad we waited. The custom soda wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, but the wings and bbq salad were fantastic.

Plenty of decorations and doodads to keep kids occupied as well.

Kid-friendliness: Special kids menu, lots of interesting Knick knacks on the walls and throughout the grounds.
