Old fashioned atmosphere of a diner with good service. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating. And I have to tell you that the steak….O.M.G…….best I’ve ever had!! I wouldn’t even share lol Delicious!!

Didn't enjoy the experience at all. I do give grace to the fact this was my first visit. We came in a little before dinner time, so it wasn't very busy. We ordered our food with a salad. And then we sat....and sat. A couple that came in after us by a few minutes had received their hot food before we got our salads. After about 30 minutes from ordering, our salad was served on a plate with large vegetables. No big deal, I'll cut them up myself. Except the plate, not even a salad bowl, made that quite messy. No big deal, until 30 seconds later, our hot food was brought out. So now not only am I trying to prepare my salad, I have a hot meal getting cold. Not very pleasant. Then as just a small added inconvenience, they forgot our soup ordered to go, which prompted us to have to ask for it again. Just an overall underwhelming experience from beginning to end.

We loved this place. The service ( our waitress was Alexis R ) Was terrific.The food was delicious our beef soup had to be fresh made and out steak sandwich sooo tasty. coffee fresh and the soda bubbly

I think its very friendly. More like eating at home. Everyone speaks to each other a helps if you need them, customers and staff .

Had high hopes trying to get breakfast but after waiting an hour for an omelette with a side of home fries and a plate of steak and eggs, we had to walk out. We got there early before the rush but watching multiple tables come after us and eat and being told “it’ll be out soon” multiple times I was ready to go. I’m sure it’s amazing but needs better kitchen time management.

What looks like an unassuming diner from the outside turns out to be an outstanding place for meats. They source from a local farm and operate a butcher on the lower floor. The hamburger I had is just fantastic, superb, just as good a burger as you are likely to have. It’s in between Hancock and Berkeley Springs, W. Va. What a treat.

Order the hot roast beef sandwich and cheeseburger. Both were excellent - especially the hot roast beef - was homemade not processed sliced lunch meat like most places use. Restaurant was clean and service was friendly. For being farm to table, the prices were great!

Recently ate breakfast there, (horrible) my toast was hard as a rock as were my wife’s waffles. Ask for medium rare steak with my eggs and got medium!! Re-heated toast and waffles? Have eaten lunch there and food was really good, change who cooks or was it because it was right before lunch and served “leftovers” from breakfast?🤷🏼♂️
We had the grilled fish. It was perfect. I was going to take a picture but was so hungry, I forgot. It is a huge piece of fish so my husband & I shared it.

Good food and excellent service. The fried fish was crispy but not greasy and it was served piping hot. The two sides were generous portions. My husband had coleslaw and mashed potatoes. I had coleslaw and beans. The coleslaw was good.... sweet and crunchy. Our friendly waitress, Stacy, was at our table with menus and took our order right away. I would recommend Potomac River Grill.
