Great Lake trout, amazing!!!

Good service and good food. Staff were nice and helped us find wants we wanted. Around 25 minute wait, made to order. Stewed chicken was amazing, so juicy. Fried quarter leg was a touch dry on one side, collard greens were good, yams are great and super sweet, same with sweet tea. Mac and cheese is good, not gritty or dry. Corn bread is good, needs butter. Definitely would recommend and we will be going again.

The food is delicious. I have notice inconsistencies with the chicken wings though. My coworker and i have ordered a few times and all of our order is correct, however the fried wings are not as crispy sometimes.
They have changed management a few times which is great because the frist time i ever went to order and pick up food, it took them 45 minutes to make the order and i almost walked out. Since then they have been reasonable about 15-20 mins to get the food completed. Now we know to order ahead of time and not wait in person.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the warm aroma of sweet, Southern soul food—just like grandma’s kitchen. Here’s a breakdown of my plate:

🍠 Candied Yams – 10/10
Fresh, tender, and perfectly sweet. These were hands-down one of my favorites!

🧀 Mac & Cheese – 5/10
Unfortunately, a letdown. The cheese tasted very generic and lacked that rich, homemade flavor. Not nearly creamy or cheesy enough.

🍗 Fried Chicken – 10/10
Golden, crispy, and seasoned just right. A true soul food staple done to perfection.

🐟 Whiting Fish – 7/10
Well-seasoned and cooked nicely, but I’ve had better whiting elsewhere.

🦐 Seafood Salad – 4/10
This missed the mark for me. It had a strange aftertaste and just didn’t sit right.

🥖 Cornbread – 6/10
It was okay—moist but not especially memorable.

🥭 Mango Lemonade – 10/10
Absolutely delicious! Perfect balance of sweet and tart—highly recommend.

✨ Customer Service & Experience – 10/10
The staff was friendly, and I didn’t have to wait long at all for my food. That, paired with the welcoming atmosphere, made for a great visit overall.

It was so good we went back Monday😋😋

Food isn't as southern as I would like. Turkey wings and maybe the catfish best items I've tasted but could be much better

I bought a 5-wing dinner with cabbage and mac and cheese. It was my first time going there. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The fried chicken was delicious and the cabbage was so good and well flavored. The mac and cheese was very good as well. The price was reasonable and the portions was a good size. I still have leftovers today. I was so happy that I went here. I live in Glen Burnie and there's hardly any soul food restaurants over there. So I was glad that I went over to Southern Blues. Now I have a good soul food place I can go to within Anne Arundel County!!

I didn't care for the ribs. I dont like parboiled or backed ribs. My sides were good. It's more of a take out restaurant. It only had 3 booths to eat at.

All of the food I have here has been amazing. The food was seasoned to perfection and reasonably priced. The staff has always been friendly. It's also next to the gym so you don't feel guilty for indulging in their Peach Cobbler.

Great food, barbecue sauce was warm and full of flavor. Great portions. Sweet tea was good, however I just cut it with some water. Workers were friendly and establishment was clean. Would go back to try the other sides.

On 11/12/2024.I ordered fried breast dinner to go. The sign showed price as $15.99 yet I was charged $17.99. Spoke to manager about the difference and was informed that there was a price increase and "he" ( whoever he is) hadn't changed the sign yet. I advised that it should be done ASAP because it's deceptive and not fair to the customers. The cashiers should inform the customer of the actual price before taking their money. Can't comment on the food as I'm writing this while waiting for my order. I can only hope that it's worth the price.

Food is good but they use TOO MUCH salt in some of their stuff especially the seafood salad. Just be careful.

The food was not that good. The baked wings were tender but dry not seasoned to good. The yams were not sweet enough at all and the Mac and cheese had no flavor. Georgia peach is wayyyyyy better

The food was very very good the pork chops were seasoned well .The Mac and cheese is ok but definitely can be better ,But the banana pudding is a 10 of of 10 I only brought one at first once I tried it I got two more it was to good and good pricing .
