So, I checked out La Estancia for lunch last Saturday. My dad had seen a few Facebook posts hyping up this spot, so we decided to see what all the fuss was about.I went ahead and ordered the Birria tacos and a Birria torta. My wife got flautas and a carne asada. We decided to try a little bit of everything.Let's talk about the tacos first. They were a bit pricey, $17 for just three tacos, but man, were they good! They came with this amazing consome, which really kicked up the flavor. Each bite was packed with deliciousness. Now onto the Birria torta - this thing was next level! Stuffed with avocado and soaked in that same consome, it was a flavor explosion. Seriously, that consome took it to a whole new level of deliciousness. The flautas were next level! Some of the best I've had in a minute. Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, and served up with all the fixings - lettuce, sour cream, and cheese. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that the sour cream and cheese came mixed together in a little side cup. I prefer them separate, but hey, no biggie. The carne asada was straight-up delicious. Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. It paired perfectly with some rice and beans on the side, making for a satisfying meal.Service was quick and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and they had a ton of options on the menu. I'm definitely coming back to try out some of their other dishes!

This past Saturday, I dropped by La Estancia around noon for a midday munch. Craving some Mexican goodness, I decided to dive into their menu and settled on a plate of flautas and a hearty serving of carne asada. It paired perfectly with some rice and beans on the side, making for a satisfying meal. Overall, La Estancia delivered the goods. The flautas were a standout, and the carne asada hit the spot.

The food was really good and the service was great too. Not the biggest place or the greatest location but most of the time it's the hole in the wall spots you find these authentic amazing dishes. I got the birria and damn it was good, expensive though.

In the words of Dorothy, “there’s no place like home.” We are from Arizona and have a strong extended family connection in Mexican culture. We KNOW Nana’s food! We know Tia’s food! I am here bringing my son back to college. We took a chance on even entering this restaurant. We have been so spoiled with the best authentic Mexican food from the homes of some of our most special loved ones. When my son and I walked in, the smell…hahaha we both just looked at each other and smiled. We were like, “okay.” Then we saw the plastic containers with the cut up chunks of fruit, the smiles continued.I ordered the Enchiladas en salsa verde and my son ordered the Tacos Burria. I was speechless! When they brought the food on the BEAUTIFUL authentic plates and bowls, that along with the presentation of the food, I knew this was going to be good.It was better than good! With my first taste of the maza of the enchilada I FORGOT I was all the way in DC! I was at Mama Louisa’s and it was 1994! I wanted to run and hug all the cooks back there. I know love when I TASTE it! My heart has been TOUCHED!I’m sorry for anyone who had a bad experience here. This has now become me and my son’s home away from HOME! I can’t wait for the rest of the family to come so we can have dinner here! The food here is REAL! The chefs cook with love! And the prices are right! No need to travel to Mexico just stop over into La Estancia! You WILL NOT regret it!Still feeling BLESSED!Michelle RobinsonVegetarian options: I was able to enchiladas with the cheese instead of the chicken.
The food was horrible. Found a looooong hair in my food that killed my appetite. I also complained about it to the girl who was up front, I think her name is Kayla, and she told me to leave instead of trying to fix the issue. I guess that is how she runs the business for others. Thanks for nothing, I guess. I hope she gets fired before she runs that place down to the ground.

I took my parents here for lunch and was happy with the delicious authentic Mexican food and the great customer service. We all had chicken tacos that were perfectly portioned, seasoned, and mouth wateringly tasty. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.
