Like everyone else said they're never open despite the hours they post! There's a tiny cogested parking lot that's hard to get in and out just to discover they're closed!

My employer does something special every year for Pi Day (03/14) and each employee gets a pie to take home. We've been getting pie from Cheryl for the past few years and every year I pick a different flavor. They are all delicious! The key lime and chocolate pecan are among the staff favorites.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pies

I ordered a quiche for a breakfast event, and I loved it! I’m glad I finally stopped in after driving by for so many years. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the other menu

What is the point of store hours if you are going to open when you want to? Don't waste your time.

Like others I had been turned off by their unreliable hours. I get it. You pull over off the road, mouth salivating…. Or perhaps you left home specifically for a delicious cake during what you thought were their hours and certainly normal business.. just to approach the jubilantly designed faced to find they’re closed. It feels a bit like a slap in the face for your efforts. So I get it. But after so long of not trying. I stopped off and my mango cupcake was perfection! Im not one for overly sweet nor do I like fillings. But this filling was just tge right portion and not filled with a cheap artificially flavored gelatin. The cake was texture and consistency. The icing was the perfect portion (not overly iced) and that mango slice on top was just so juicy and fresh. Damn. It was good.

Was pretty excited to try this place out because I like supporting local businesses. I've stopped by here even during their unreasonably selective hours of operation. Even when I come at the time their sign says they're open, they aren't open. What's the point of a store front if you don't operate as a store?

A few family members and I stopped by Shortcake for the 1st time. It's a cute quaint little place and the young lady taking care of us was extremely sweet, pleasant, warm, and informative. I wanted to try the pound cake, but didn't really want to have to purchase a half of one; they didn't sell it by the slice but I got it anyway, thinking I'd share it with the rest. We got a pack of chocolate chip cookies and apples pastries, along with the cake. I only tried the pund cake and cookies. I liked the cookies after microwaving them for about 20 seconds. The pound cake had a fairly good flavor but it was quite gritty, as if made with some coconut flour. I've done some baking with coconut flour and almond flour but can't tolerate the coconut flour as it gets stuck in my throat. My other family members didn't enjoy any of theirs...they reported that the apple pastries were overloaded with dough with very little filling and did not like the cookies. They reported that the items were bland.I still want to go back and try their beef patties and curry chicken patties, I think ?

I give up. Been stopping by this location for well over a year and it's NEVER open at the posted times!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll give up. I'm spending my $$$ at Sugar Vault.

I bought two dozen cupcakes from the Shortcake Bakery for my birthday party this past weekend. The cupcakes were marvelous, and everyone enjoyed them immensely. The staff were very helpful, but I'd reccomend communicating with them by phone rather than email, especially if you want to order ahead. I will definitely be buying from Shortcake again, and reccomending them to my friends in the area. A truly wonderful small business!

Popped in for the first time, in search of cupcakes to celebrate my mother's birthday. Figured I'd try one before committing to a dozen. Got a dozen. The cupcakes are varied and delicious. I was also surprised to see Jamaican patties (I hadn't done any research before visiting), and I'll have to come back and try them. The ambiance is quaint and inviting. The service is kind and welcoming. I will absolutely be back.

Shortcake is a great local bakery that offers really good quality products. I have tried their meat patties and cookies, which have all been delicious. They offer a weekend brunch in collaborations with Maryland Meadworks which I have not tried, but it looks tasty and fun. Great location right off the Northwest branch trail.Their hours are pretty limited, and some items that appear on their website may not be in stock on a given day (but you can order ahead). I this set up in largely driven by the fact that they are a small operation in a small town. Definitely worth the trip when they are open - it is really nice to have this type of bakery available locally.
