Burritos are a must

The location looks rundown from the outside, but on the inside, it's OK. There are a few tables for dining in. You have to self order and pay at the kiosk. The order was ready relatively quickly. The online menu prices are incorrect. The prices have increased. For example, one chicken taco is $4.50. The food tastes good. The rice is really good. I would recommend this restaurant. Parking is very limited here.

Tacos 5 De Mayo Restaurant is nice for a quick meet up with a friend or a quick to go lunch. The place is relatively small and giving a "hole in the wall" taco spot, but don't let the outside fool you! They have a self service ordering station and seats where you can wait for your order and eat your food. I ordered two of the carne asada tacos because I was trying to save my money (it was $4/ taco). Upon sitting down, my friend and I were given tortilla chips to eat with our choice of sauces they had out on a stand. I liked the fact that they had different choices with different levels of spice. I got the spicy salsa to eat with the chips and it was amazing! My friend and I were very pleased with the level of spice and how fresh it tasted. A few minutes later, we got our tacos and there was a plethora of meat on the tortillas which I was very happy about because coming from DC, they definitely skimp on the meat. The taste was pretty good, definitely not the best tacos I've had, but did its job. My friend got the chicken tacos, which were a bit dry, but were saved by the spicy salsa we had with the chips. Overall I would give my experience a 3.6/5, not quite a 4 because of the price and the decent taste of the tacos, but still a really good spot to quickly get lunch especially if you're craving authentic tacos.

I was excited about giving this little local spot a try. I called to verify what kind-of cooking oil they cook there food in because I have a serious peanut allergy. The worker that answered my call was not only rude but asked me why I need to know about the cooking oil, which should not be a question asked by anyone in the food industry.

OMG!!!!!!! This was the best birria tacos I have ever tasted in my life. The first bite made me contemplate quitting my full time job to become a food blogger so I can travel the world to find a birria taco that could compete. I thanked my higher power for granting me the taste buds to enjoy my tacos. Amazing, authentic, delicious!!! You have to try these tacos. Simply the best.

I was disappointed this time around. Normally they are my go to street taco place. However the tacos I received was unseasoned and no cilantro was on the tacos I only received two small cucumber slices. Just not what I am used too when coming to this place in the past.

I found this place on Google Maps, like I find most places to dine when traveling. It's a Hole-In-The-Wall, but what a lovely hole it is! You can't get better Mexican Food in the DC m area if you ask me. It seems that most of their business is carry-out, and rightly so. The dining area is almost non-existent, but don't let that fool you. I had one of their Burrito's (saved it for lunch the next day) because after enjoying the rest of my meal, I couldn't come close to eating that. If I was going to be here longer, I'd be coming back and exploring more of their menu. Their staff is very friendly and take good care of you if you wait for your meal like I did. If you're in this area, this is a must visit place. I'd almost guarantee you that you'll end up being a repeat customer.

Cute little spot with amazing food. It’s not a service-oriented restaurant, more for takeout, so bring cash to tip and don’t expect table service like most sit-down restaurants. Will be coming back regularly for their Mexican sodas and papusas!
