I tried this place for the first time. When I moved to Southern Maryland, I was told it was either a Hunan Star or Benny's for the best Chinese. I can safely say it is Benny's for me. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice, and an order of Crab Cheese Rangoons. The General Tso's Chicken was tasty. It's thick sticky red sauce was great and the white and broccoli was decent. The Shrimp Lo Mein was great. The Lo Mein had a lot of flavor and there was a good amount of shrimp added. The Rangoons were very good as well. The cream cheese was sweet and that is my preferred filling vs the sour version some places use. Prices were reasonable for the food ordered as well.

Don't let the quaint location fool you. Best food I've had in quite awhile, let alone Chinese! I went with beef and broccoli and chicken lo mein - fantastic. I can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu, which is very diverse. The staff (owners?) were very friendly and the food was ready quick. Will be back and highly recommend.

If your looking for good food with great customer service go to Bennys Sun Shop in laplata. I've had many dishes that all were great. General Tsos chicken, Kung Pao chicken or beef. They have the best Steak and Cheese and Chicken Steak and cheese subs. The side items area great too. Very large chicken wings and try the teriyaki beef and teriyaki chicken strips. And of course DONT forget the Jumbo cheeseburger sandwiches and the fried shrimp baskets. Bennys is 100 percent the BEST in laplata. Trust me you won't regret it.
