I work a couple blocks away and this is the perfect place to stop in for a quick espresso/coffee both iced and hot, sandwiches, frozen lemonade and snacks. The bakery has high quality offerings with great custom options. Highly recommend for any occasion!
The lemon pound cake is awesome!!! Omg!!
Very good bakery! Cakes are fresh, delicious, and always look amazing. The service is friendly and helpful.
The staff is amazing! There are so many options, so I just got a little bit of everything. The young lady who helped me was so kind and knowledgeable about everything. To the owners, the young lady with red hair, she is truly amazing and kind. The other lady at the counter was so kind and helpful. Thank you for making me feel welcomed, and all the goodies!
Love this Bakery! I have been coming since the old owner was there. My only complaint there is a older white woman with glasses ans bangs. She never greets me or says anything when I arrive mind you I am a regular. Today I witnessed her not greet me but when another individual entered older Caucasian woman with a child she seemed to be super friendly
You will not regret purchasing anything from this bakery! They were highly professional from the moment my husband and I sat down to discuss our wedding cake to the execution! They were so flexible with us with allowing us to have two flavors of cake to appeal to all our guests. We loved the cake, delicious and our design came out exactly as the vision~thank you!!
First time customer here but definitely will be back! We ordered a birthday cake for my son’s birthday and everything went so smoothly and we were extremely happy with how the cake turned out. I called the week before my son’s birthday hoping that they would be able to accommodate my request for a special themed cake even though I did not have an image to use. They offered to do an image for us that included the theme that we wanted (Super Mario Bros.). I was a little nervous because I didn’t know what it would look like but I trusted their expertise (and the many positive reviews I read). Let me tell you that we were so thrilled with what they did and my son was sooo happy!! And the cake was delicious too! We chose strawberry and Lemon for our flavors and the party guests were raving about the flavor and the decoration. They really know what they are doing both on the design and taste. It was so moist and fluffy. Shout out to Dawn and the other person who took my order over the phone as both were patient and friendly. Now I can’t wait for the next birthday to order another cake!!
As a former employee, I was 19 years old and had gotten out of a bad spot at a previous establishment before this one.
At first glance, I initially appreciated what was camaraderie, and a good way to get my income, and on my 20th birthday, one of the staff made me a cake on the house, which I stated, that “I’d have been happy to pay” all of which warrant the stars given.
However, the more I got to know about my staff with a closer lens, I can now see the shallow and deceitful nature of my former job.
It was also where I received my first unlawful misconduct report, based on the false claim that I committed an unethical act, after I asked a coworker not to freely run their BARE finger in the frosting that people eat, and despite an explanation, the chef let them off scot-free, and had given me a bad name to my Russian manager, who is the only person I respected more than anyone there.
In the end, criticism is not taken lightly, even if it’s valid.
Had I not gone through the “Hey, there’s a small beacon that maybe we should know more about each other” door months later reluctantly all to be invalidated, then the haughtily F-worded behavior was the real deal. (w/a G)
So if you consider working here, trust is a flame that may die out before you light the candle, applying only to some.
I can only assume people believed these rumors were something I would do and how I should “know better” and just don’t since I’m a guy with ASD.
Pay close attention here, a worthwhile review read. Approximately a year ago, I bought a Keylime pie from this place. It barely tasted like Key lime. I called in kindly and told the person in charge that it didn’t have Harley any lime taste to it. They seem to understand but that was my first experience besides a few other times that I’ve gone by this place. The reason for my one star review is that yesterday I went in there to get some Key lime pie and or some treats. They had no Key lime pies, but had key lime slices. Now, here’s where it gets interesting they sell one small crooked piece for nine bucks, for one slice of pie. OK that’s a lot of money, so out of a principal, I elected not to go with it, but they sold me one anyways, along with four other items, 2 Cinnabon ( Very Stale!) with some nuts on top of it and some 2 macaroons they bagged everything up. I went home looking forward to Key lime pie after a nice steak, my treat for the week. I opened it up and noticed that the slice of lime that they stuck in top of it was shriveled and dried up. Oh my God this is a 2 to 3 day old piece of pie, I took a bite of it and it taste like cheesecake. It’s like they serve a cheesecake with a piece of lime stuck on top of it. This place is way overrated and took advantage of this consumer. I think the only reason why they get away with this retail behavior is they have no competition. Today my wife and I went to a grocery store to get some vegetables. I bought a couple bakery items from a major grocery store. Their bakery items tasted better (Half the price of this Place). Oh my God I just feel ripped off and I have to share this with the public, This place charges top end price for the flavor of old food. Believe me I have plenty of money and will pay for quality. But never again will Charles Street Bakery see any of our business, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know when any type of conversation of bakery goods comes up, never go to that place. If you don’t believe me, just pay attention and check it out for yourself you will be disappointed. It’s overrated.

We ordered many cakes from Charles street bakery. They have done my gender reveal cake, my birthday cake, a regular cake with some special numbers on top and lastly a smash cake for our 1 yr olds birthday. Every single one of these cakes was phenomenal. For my daughters smash cake all I provided was the birthday invitations and they created the most beautiful cake! This is the only bakery we go to. I would recommend them to anyone asking about good cake.
