Pay close attention here, a worthwhile review read. Approximately a year ago, I bought a Keylime pie from this place. It barely tasted like Key lime. I called in kindly and told the person in charge that it didn’t have Harley any lime taste to it. They seem to understand but that was my first experience besides a few other times that I’ve gone by this place. The reason for my one star review is that yesterday I went in there to get some Key lime pie and or some treats. They had no Key lime pies, but had key lime slices. Now, here’s where it gets interesting they sell one small crooked piece for nine bucks, for one slice of pie. OK that’s a lot of money, so out of a principal, I elected not to go with it, but they sold me one anyways, along with four other items, 2 Cinnabon ( Very Stale!) with some nuts on top of it and some 2 macaroons they bagged everything up. I went home looking forward to Key lime pie after a nice steak, my treat for the week. I opened it up and noticed that the slice of lime that they stuck in top of it was shriveled and dried up. Oh my God this is a 2 to 3 day old piece of pie, I took a bite of it and it taste like cheesecake. It’s like they serve a cheesecake with a piece of lime stuck on top of it. This place is way overrated and took advantage of this consumer. I think the only reason why they get away with this retail behavior is they have no competition. Today my wife and I went to a grocery store to get some vegetables. I bought a couple bakery items from a major grocery store. Their bakery items tasted better (Half the price of this Place). Oh my God I just feel ripped off and I have to share this with the public, This place charges top end price for the flavor of old food. Believe me I have plenty of money and will pay for quality. But never again will Charles Street Bakery see any of our business, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know when any type of conversation of bakery goods comes up, never go to that place. If you don’t believe me, just pay attention and check it out for yourself you will be disappointed. It’s overrated.

We ordered many cakes from Charles street bakery. They have done my gender reveal cake, my birthday cake, a regular cake with some special numbers on top and lastly a smash cake for our 1 yr olds birthday. Every single one of these cakes was phenomenal. For my daughters smash cake all I provided was the birthday invitations and they created the most beautiful cake! This is the only bakery we go to. I would recommend them to anyone asking about good cake.

I had a birthday cake made from this Bakery. It was heavenly! Moist red velvet cake made with I think butter icing. So good all. I must order a cake there, cause my son in law did a great job picking this bakery for my daughter birthday.
Cakes, cookies, pies, oh my!! For years, I've enjoyed premade and custom sweet treats from this local gem in La Plata. Once upon a time, they even sold baked goods for dogs (not sure if they still do). They do offer gluten-free items and even premade homemade sandwiches. Prices are reasonable. Various day old baked goods are sold @ 1/2 price. Staff are pleasant and patient as they allow patrons time to process the captivating collection of delectables. ?
Parking: A few spots are located in front but more are located in the lot behind the shop.

The customer service here is top tier from the lovely lady Trinity in the front, she was so lovely and helpful when serving me and answering any questions i had and was very personable. She definitely deserves a raise! The bakery items are amazing here as always 10/10 recommend.

I used Charles Street Bakery for the first time at the suggestion of my aunt who uses them all the time. I got my wedding cake from them. I changed my mind a few times on the design and they were super quick and understanding about the changes. When I saw my cake on the day of my wedding, I absolutely fell in love with it. It was, and still is the most beautiful cake i’d ever seen. The flowers were placed exactly how I wanted them, and they even added edible glitter which really made the cake look magical. I will most definitely be using Charles Street Bakery for any future events!!! Thank you all so much!
