A severely underrated gem of Laurel. The food is always incredible - I always get the Paneer Makhani and it’s amazing every single time. My boyfriend and I come here and get an appetizer, two mango lassis, two paneer makhanis, two orders of garlic naan, and a dessert for around $70. It’s very reasonably priced and worth every penny.

We traveled to India in 1999 and were involved in voluntary activities with the community of Madras, South India which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food in Madras was so delicious and whenever we have the chance, we like to dine at an Indian restaurant.Amber Spice restaurant and John, the owner has created the most delicious, amazing and authentic dining experience just as though we were back in India enjoying Iddly,Masala Dosa, Samosa, Dahl and rice. So much to say about Amber Spice. What more can I say but, "come and dine and enjoy".
There was literally nothing left on the containers, we used every bit of naan (including some store bought) to get every last bit. It was THAT delicious.We have a particular love for Indian food because there are so many vegetarian options, and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend the dal makhni, palak paneer, chana masala, spinach kofta (the dumplings are incredible) and aloo gobi.My only criticism is about the naan, which was burnt (as in over a quarter of each piece was black), irregularly thin and flimsy, and had holes. Basically it was poorly made. Hence why we used store bought naan (quality and to make sure we had enough). A bummer but not enough to detract from the entrees, this is still our new go-to Indian restaurant!
Stopping in for lunch, we were pleasantly surprised with the comfortable relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the crispy fried vegetables as an appetizer. We both remarked on how they were perfectly fried, and not at all greasy. We split an order of Chana Masala, and it was delightful. Also, we noted the fresh flavor that wasn't oily or greasy like restaurant food is often guilty of. I tried the fresh lime soda, and it was refreshingly zippy. We were so glad we stopped in and we will be back.Vegetarian options: A full page of vegetable entrees

I stopped into Amber Spice on February 7th, 2024 after an appointment at the dealership and I'm so glad I did! As soon as I walked in, I was warmly welcomed and had prompt, attentive service throughout my visit. The staff really shines when it comes to customer service.I ordered the Chettinad Chicken and Sambhar - two acid tests for great South Indian fare. The Chettinad chicken was fantastically flavorful and spicy, just as it should be. And the sambhar was delightful, proving they know how to do justice to the basics.The manager kindly spoke with me while I waited at the bar. It's clear the whole staff takes pride in their excellent Indian cuisine. My food came out quickly considering I ordered it right before lunch rush. Everything was fresh and delicious.As someone raised on South Indian food, I'm thrilled to have found such an authentic, welcoming new spot right near the dealership. Amber Spice's attention to flavours, spicing, and top-notch service makes for an outstanding experience. I'll definitely be back next week when I'm in the area.

Decided to try this place instead of driving to VA and was highly disappointed in the taste and quality of the foods. The medu vada was the best thing that we ordered. The idilis was not light and fluffy like I'm use to, which led me to believe that they weren't fresh. My family order chicken wings and goat. The wings were over cooked or old...very dry. The goat was tough and tasted of pasta sauce. Those who ate the goat got bellyache that evening.I checked the reviews and was really surprised at my visit. Will definitely not return or suggest to anyone. I wasted money on this food?
I wish I listened to the reviews their chicken tikka masla is terrible. It taste like milk & spice the chicken has no seasoning. That being said I usually come here for the swaagwala which is good & there veggie korma is alright. Samosa chaat & there samosa’s are good. In my head I usually give this restaurant a 4/5 not anymore this chicken tikka masla is made so poorly I had warn future customers.
