Cakes Plus provided a wonderful cake for my son's wedding several years ago, so my son recommended the bakery when I wanted to purchase a cake for my grandson's 30th birthday. I knew the words I wanted written on the cake, but didn't have a design in mind. Many, many thanks to Hannah for her patience and for helping me nail the perfect design!! Everyone loved the vanilla sheet cake. (See picture.) It was beautiful and delicious. Then, when I went to pickup the vanilla sheet cake, on a whim, I decided to also purchase a smaller, off the shelf, lemon cake with a balloon design. People who tried both cakes at the birthday events said both were amazing, but they loved the taste of the lemon cake more than the vanilla. I wish we weren't limited to rating this bakery 5 stars! Lol!!

Great experience. My friend came here for cake tasting which was free just needed to set up appointment. The service from Grace, Natalie, and Linda was exceptional. We were seated once the full party arrived. They brought out several slices and offered to bring out fillings to taste as well. THIS IS CAKE! The taste is delicious. The couple chose a two tier wedding cake with the layers being different flavors. Total came to less then $250.

Hannah is very nice and professional, the manager I believe(didn’t catch a name) at pick up was awesome she made sure the cupcakes were secure for the ride lol 10 stars this will be my forever bakery you have a customer for life!

I was in a pickle and needed logos printed on edible paper. I am in the DC area and called about 30 places and no one could print. Some even told me they could and I showed up and then surprise they couldn't.
I googled places near me and surprise someone has the printer and materials to do it. I called them and they were able to help me. I was so grateful and the staff was so helpful and nice. I would highly recommend the cake plus team!
I have gone to Cakes Plus a few times several years ago just for cupcakes and always loved them. This time I went to get a cake made for my 1 year oldest birthday and had a custom design done, was doing a dr suess theme and shared an image with them to reference. Before picking it up I had them send an image and I was a bit disappointed as it was lacking a few requests I had made. My husband brought it up to Alexus who helped me with placing the order and she never complained she was so friendly and professional and corrected the requests and the cake came out even better than I had expected. I added an image of the first image shared (with cursive happy birthday writing) vs the cake I picked up after the corrections. I will definitely be returning! Amazing people work here and they are willing to fix reasonable requests if they have the time.

This was the best cake all year. I ordered the chocolate and vanilla marble cake with vanilla buttercream for a baby shower. This cake was really moist and very tasty. The decorations were so beautiful that no one wanted to cut into it. Will be ordering again.

They offered a tasting of three flavors they took their sweet time with everyone that was ordering specialty cakes and answered everyone's questions even the people that couldn't make up their mind. This bakery is awesome 👍

Have been going here for YEARS. And this was the FINAL straw. I get insane cakes in Tampa done with fancy designs and very big cakes for $60 max at a bakery. I sent them a photo of exactly how I wanted the cake done, like exactly to a T (first picture). And it’s not a hard cake to do, vintage heart cake. The size was so small for one, there was glitter on the cake which I didn’t ask for, the red used should’ve been a darker red like wine, and the handwriting should’ve been exactly the way it is in the second photo I sent. I spent 80 DOLLARS on this tiny cake that was done so poorly. Granted it tasted amazing but it should’ve looked better for the $80 I sent on a tiny cake. Will never be getting a cake from here again. The solo cake bakers you can find on TikTok are definitely the way to go if you want it to look good. Highly disappointed and I would’ve just not accepted this cake and asked for my money back if I didn’t have to immediately bring it to the birthday party.
Going off of the review comment from the cakes plus worker: I paid $42 as a down payment which was half and another $40 today. That’s $80 total and some change. And the other cakes in Tampa I get are not from cakes plus they’re from a very small bakery (irrelevant to the review) just expressing the fact that I get an exquisite cake from a small bakery in Tampa for $60 that’s massive compared to a (I thought) reliable huge bakery in Maryland that gave me a tiny bootleg cake for $80. If your bakers couldn’t make it look as good as the photo you should've said you couldn’t do it. Also the size wasn’t the main issue, but I’m not a baker I don’t know what 6x8 or whatever means. You should’ve just let me know what the size was going to be if I wanted it the size of the picture. And all of that doesn’t make up for the fact that it was in an incorrect shade of red, had glitter on it, and the handwriting was sloppy and not in the font requested. When I showed my friends/family the picture of what I wanted compared to the cake it was a laughing stock. At least make your prices match your work. That cake should’ve costed $40 max NOT $80.
