I came to this place and they seem discriminate. Well not they too much the cook. The lady that takes your order isn’t friendly as well. If you sell your food one way sell it like that all the time. Don’t pick and choice how you want to sell you food. It’s your post. you could have made more money if you thought about it.

Was a little disappointed
Portion sizes a little small.
Many places will remove bones when buying curry chicken or goat they do not.

My husband and I have been loyal customers of this Jamaican restaurant since it first opened. We’ve always loved the food and appreciated the warm, welcoming service—especially from the owner and the friendly lady with the curly perm. We joked about the porridge not been ready because she had to sweetened it🤣

Unfortunately, our experience has changed since a new staff member (an American-sounding woman) began working there. From the beginning, we noticed a shift in the atmosphere. She consistently comes across as unfriendly, dismissive, and at times downright rude. Her attitude makes it uncomfortable to place an order, and we now find ourselves trying to avoid her whenever we visit.

Today, I had no choice but to interact with her, as the other lady wasn’t working. After placing my order, she told me to have a seat and that I would be called when my food was ready. I said I’d prefer to watch what she was putting on my plate because there are certain items I don’t want. She laughed and repeated her instruction, dismissing my concern. When I insisted not to sit, she became loud and confrontational.

Thankfully, the owner stepped in to help. While I was explaining the situation to her, the staff member continued to talk over me—despite the owner asking her to remain calm. At one point, when I told her I wasn’t speaking to her but to the owner, she shouted, “Well, I am talking to you!”—completely ignoring the owner’s efforts to deescalate the situation.

It’s disheartening to see such a wonderful place start to decline due to one person’s attitude. I’ve noticed other recent reviews echo similar sentiments, and I hope the management takes these concerns seriously. We truly want to continue supporting this business, but respectful customer service should always be a priority.

I by one Oxtail test terrible look terrible, sick my stomach. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

One cup of red pea soup it was very good. I would give that a three star.

I eat here probably three times a week. The beef patties are made to order, fresh homemade, not microwaved from a package. Authentic Jamaican cuisine. Call ahead for the Escovitch, expect a 45 minute wait. Daily specials from 11-3. Go early while they have most of the options. After 1ish, the offerings are limited. It's a good thing the food goes fast, it's GOOD! A grocery is inside, sells Jamaican hot sauces and plenty of other staples and refrigerated food options.

I now get what they have said on reviews. Ower is very nice but the HELP is a NASTY and RUDE person. If I ask for something and a paying customer, just do it. I didn't ask for a side of sarcasm with my food. Refund given and owner said keep the food. Sorry no ma'am don't even want it!!!!!
