I love their food, my wife loves heirloom crabs. We been eating with them since they were in the food truck in Laurel.

I visiting this location on 01/01/26 and it was a great start to the new year. My cousin and myself are crab lovers and this place didn't disappoint! The crabs were large, very meaty and well seasoned! We definitely be back as this place has made second place.

Give them a try.

our waitress was very forgetful, had to ask for things many times. the other waitress was extremely rude when we asked her for something that the other waitress had forgotten. the food was cold for all of us, and my meal was not good at all, but they wouldn't take it off the bill 100%. i’ve been on the fence with this restaurant for a long time and this experience was definitely the icing on the cake. i won’t be returning.

I have been lucky to be a patron of Emmerts many, many times over many years following their crabs from their West Laurel neighborhood to Rt 1 and now out to Rt 32; however I haven’t had a chance to go there recently. However, today we had an opportunity to have their crabs and it was a great reminder of why they are one of the greatest spots in our region to grab some heavy, fresh, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked crabs. Sometimes the simplest things to get right are actually the hardest things, and this business gets it right every single time year in and year out. Thanks Jimmy and Lori for providing such a great service to our community all these years - a true testament that you are the real deal. Much love and respect!!!!

We had tried to get into Emmett's before and it was all booked. This time we called a couple of days in advance and got in with no problem. Emmett's is Okay+, Quite Expensive, Kind of down-home-folksy atmosphere. Unless you are addicted to boiled crabs, I might suggest other restaurants. I ordered a fish entree which was okay but not (broiled properly) as good as I've had elsewhere. My wife and son really enjoyed the boiled crab! I must say the side dishes were excellent: coleslaw, french fries, vegetables of the day.

I got fish and chips. Both were burnt and the fish had a “fishy” taste. Disappointed.

I’m very disappointed to have to write this review. I was there a few Saturdays ago and had a less than pleasant experience. I had a taste for crabs so we headed to Emmett’s in the storm after calling to confirm crabs were in stock. First off, a waiter greeted us but wasn’t friendly. She had been our waiter several times in the past, but on this particular Saturday, something was different. She immediately told us that they were out of crabs in which I found strange because we called to confirm prior to leaving our house. She then proceeded to say I have to sit you outside. I was puzzled because I saw empty tables indoors. She then asked if we had reservations and I told her no. At this point I was confused as we never had to make reservations in the past. It was almost like she didn’t want us there. She eventually sat us indoors. Since we were told that there were no crabs by the person that greeted us and then by our waiter, I ordered the crab legs. Minutes later a family comes in and inquires about crabs. I heard the waiter say they would have to pay extra for crabs. I questioned our waiter and she basically lied to my face. We have supported Emmett’s multiple times since they opened. I’ve recommended them to several FB community groups such as the Laurel Take Out Group and the Laurel MD Connect Group. I’ve also recommended them to friends and family in the Laurel community. We drove there while it was pouring because we wanted seafood but because we didn’t have the same skin color as the family that was seated after us, we weren’t able to order what we came for. I will never patronize your establishment again and I will ensure the Laurel community does not as well. Your establishment should take a few diversity training courses which will aid them on how to interact with people from different races. This is 2025 and if you want your business to prosper, you must do better. Not everyone that walks into your establishment will look like your servers or like you, the owners.
