We were staying next door to the Flavor Garden and came in for breakfast on our first day in DC, the service was good, the good was so good. I keep thinking about the scrambled eggs! They tasted freshly scrambled and made out of real eggs, and seriously the best eggs I have had in my life! The french toast and bacon were also good but not as good as those eggs! We returned that evening for dinner and my husband and I both had the burgers. They were the best ever! Great flavor and texture and so savory. I also had one of the best margaritas I have ever had and all in all really good filling meals! I wish we got a chance to go again before we left DC. Believe me when I tell you go check them out!

I ordered the Veggie Burger with Onion Rings. I was thankful for this meal. The onion rings were crunchy and I waited to taste the sweetness of the onion, it never came. I appreciated the absolute softness of the burger bun. The vegetable burger could have had more flavour, however there was a curious emerging pepper flavour which was in the catsup. "D" was very friendly and attentive and patrons love talking to her. This venue also features live jazz and cooking classes. The ambiance was a budget saturnic palate with a horizontal rock patterned wall finish. I hope to return for the live jazz and the breakfast.

We attended a year-end award ceremony in this Flavor Garden. The organization reserved the entire restaurant for this dinner party. It offers both indoor and outdoor seatings. There was a bar for beers. Water, coke and lemonade were on the bar top. The food were served on the table against the wall. The choices included salad, chicken, fish, rice, green beans, and bread.

Love Flavor Garden! Tried for the first time last night and will def be coming back. OK, the setting is pretty basic and no one looks go in that lighting but, man, the food is fantastic!!! I had the Shrimp Po Boy and, as a frequent traveler to NOLA, prepared to be disappointed. It was AMAZING - 4 HUGE shrimp, beautifully seasoned and cooked, the perfect soft roll, fully dressed, including pickles, just like at Parkway Bakery and Tavern at the source. My dining companions had the Chicken Caesar wrap (tasty but a little too heavily dressed - easily remedied next time) and the Salmon BLT, declared excellent. The fries are delicious and so well seasoned that ketchup would be an insult. Finally, my son declared the onion rings ‘the best I’ve ever had’ and declined to share them. Will be trying those next time. Staff was super - friendly and knowledgeable, attentive in the best laid back way possible - a true gem!!!

Went to Flavor Garden for a quick breakfast on Sunday morning and had a great experience. It was a beautiful day so I asked to sit outside and was guided to the table by a friendly staff member. She quickly put in my order and the food was ready in less than ten minutes. She also brought syrup, ketchup, salt, and pepper without me having to ask and came back with extra napkins which I really appreciated. I got the $12 waffle platter which included two eggs and one protein. I got my eggs over easy with bacon and was very satisfied with both. The waffle was also very nice and definitely satisfied that craving. The outdoor seating area was appreciated and the service was excellent as well. The price for what I got was superb; I usually expect to spend more tuna $15 on a single dish in DC so was really surprised that I was able to find this place at such an affordable price. Looking forward to coming back here when I'm in Van Ness next!

The food has been great every time I’ve visited. Happy hour is a great deal! Wings are big and sandwiches are all good. Funnel cakes I still need to try but by all accounts are amazing. Service is slow but more in a timeliness way than bad, just not a fast spot. Interior really needs a makeover from the previous restaurant. Jazz nights have been fantastic, highly recommend a Wednesday here.

It was the first time I’ve been to this restaurant the waitress was very nice she welcomed me in with a very nice smile, the menu is very good and simple which is what I like to see when I go to a restaurant, the food options are great nice burgers and subs and drinks the restaurant was very neat and clean I will definitely go back next time I’m around the area.

I love this place! I ordered the special - bowtie pasta with vegetables and a light cream sauce, added shrimp, side of collards, was more than enough for my husband and me. Great service and is now my new go-to neighborhood spot. They have local jazz on Wednesdays. It never looks crowded because they get steady business from the Days Inn. But it has that nice patio and is pleasant inside. I miss Tesoro's but this place has great potential if we patronize it!
