I love Kabu because they always have delicious food. They have never disappointed when it comes to that! They are a hibachi style restaurant with a good bar and tables without the hibachi. The restaurant is pretty large and they have the best happy hour in Laurel, as far as pricing goes. Where they do fall short, to me, is with their service. They tend to be quick and cold taking the order and usually the same once you've completed your meal. I've been here about ten times and it seems like they are always rushing you out the restaurant once you're done with your meal. "Yes, I would like a dessert please!" Stop rushing me so I could get some fried ice cream! Lol

Worst dining experience of my life. Called and made reservations for Valentine’s Day. Was told when we arrived that reservations were not allowed on Valentine’s Day. Waited 45 minutes to be seated in the dining area (not at a hibachi table). Waited another 45 minutes for our drinks. Over an hour for food. Food was served completely cold other than the fried rice. Took at least 30 minutes to pay the bill and leave. Between ordering drinks/food and paying the bill, the waitress never visited our table again. All in all, spent over 3 hours for a horrible overpriced experience.

Single worst habachi experience I've ever had. Service was excellent, but the food was some of the least seasoned or sauced food I've ever had.

Myself and my partner could only eat a handful of bites before the grease and lack of taste made us give up and get takeout containers to throw out later.

We left so much food on our plates that it couldn't fit in the takeout containers they gave us and no one on staff thought or cared enough to question that apparently.

They also gave us the bill before we could order a dessert we asked about earlier, which is just the sour icing on the stale cake.

Food was a 10! The chief was amazing and very entertaining! Waitress was not great. I ordered a long island ice tea that never came. She asked twice if we wanted more water and never refilled. Such a shame because the meal doesn't match the service. I will not be back!

Came here around 8pm on a Saturday evening… so we expected it to be lit. The host:a sat us down very promptly (we didn’t much appreciate that they crammed us next to other people, when there were other open tables). no, we didn’t sit at the actual grille, we were looking for a chill vibe to chat. The server took a while to take our food order but he was quite pleasant. We ordered a few appetizers as well as half priced rolls. The presentation : 10/10 !
Before the end of our dinner we ordered a chicken hibachi to go which we ate the following day : 7/10 (probably just doesn’t taste as good as a leftover)
Overall a pretty good experience. Will most likely come back.
PS they do add 18% gratuity on the check.

I normally enjoy food from kabu but the other night we ordered drunken noodles and pad Thai and both tasted so terrible we couldn’t eat our food. The drunken noodles were so over cooked they were complete mush and the pad Thai had no sauce or flavor. A ton of noodles and very little veggies. The shrimp were so over cooked they were hard. Luckily, the seaweed salad and crab Rangoon was edible. I hope this was a fluke and not an indicator of the new quality.
