I’ve been a resident of Maryland since 2019 & have been using Kake Korner for events since 2020. I’ve always been obsessed with how delicious their cakes/cupcakes are. So naturally when it was time for me to have a baby shower, I went straight to them. To no surprise, my guests raved about how scrumptious the cupcakes were (we had the caramel & biscoff flavors). Although their strawberry-strawberry is my absolute favorite, every single flavor they have is a hit! This place has always been a 10/10 for me, & I will forever speak very highly of them when people are looking for cake-bakery options!

The cake was beautiful, exactly what I envisioned, and tasted just as wonderful as it looked. Everyone at the celebration commented on how delicious it was. I ordered a cake from Diane over the phone. She’s very passive-aggressive and impatient over the phone. I remember asking her if the cake would be white (my requested icing color) and she then goes on about how the cake will be yellow on the inside and it won’t be white on the inside. I’m aware of how vanilla cake looks like. I was asking you about the ICING. When I was giving her my card information I had to get my wallet to read the numbers off correctly to ensure no errors, and after like 15 seconds she immediately goes “Hello? Are you going to read it?” And in my head I was like, “Yes? Can you wait? I’m going to give it to you.” I understand ordering over the phone can be difficult than in person but if your business takes online orders you need to have patience. Especially when I wasn’t taking long.
When I gave her my credit card info she called me the next day saying “my card declined”. My card didn’t decline. I got a notification from my bank that the wrong expiration date was used. I gave her the right one, she just put it in WRONG and then tried to blame it on my “card being declined”. When I tried correcting her over the phone she insisted my card was declined until I told her that I got a notification from my bank that the expiration date was simply put in wrong, lol.
The cake I got came out ok! It tasted fine. But very overpriced. It was small and cost me like $80. I wasn’t 100% happy with the design because it didn’t look exactly how I had imagined it (I sent her reference photos as well) but I was going to eat it regardless because I spent so much money on it. They also put glitter on my cake? I didn’t ask for that.
I will not order from here again because of the owners personality. She has a very condescending tone over the phone. I see other reviews saying the same thing so it’s not just me!
Ms. Donna and the Kake Korner Krew are the absolute best. My sister was turning 40 and I found out she wasn't going to have a cake. I had 48hrs to do something. Overwhelmed, frustrated and with tears in my eyes I prayed and walked into Kake Korner. The Krew and Ms. Donna said they could make it happen and that is exactly what they did. The cake was beautiful, flavorful, moist and affordable. Thank you for saving the day and me from almost falling apart.

I can always count on Kake Korner to make the best cakes. Every time I come in with intricate designs they deliver on the details to the T! People always ask “ where did you get that cake from” ? I tried to keep this gem of a place to myself for a long time but unfortunately I had to give in to the pressure and share the greatness , lol!!
