Unfortunately my recent order of June 14th was not up to par. Overcooked and overpriced pepper snail (2) pieces for $21.83 same with the peppered goat meat which was mainly fatty meat. Very small portion Jellof rice and way too ripen soaked fried plantain. Not impressed or pleased at all.

The food is delicious but quantity is very small and it's pricey. They use the really small containers to package food.
Customer service can be better, honestly.

I just have to be honest, i’m kinda in awe this place has 4 stars.. must be for the good time. This by far is the most bland African food i’ve ever had..and i gave them a try TWICE. the second time i asked for some spice and the lady over the phone tried saying they charge $1 for a cup of spice.. never one to complain about prices bc i love my food but i gotta pay for YOUR food to have a flavor?.. i say save your coin if you coming for FOOD.

This was my first time, but I will say the quantity is too small for the price...spent much for a small pack, definitely not going back, though.

Terrible service, when you go to pick up an Uber order they ignore you and the people who come to pick up take a long time, rather they leave because no one serves you

I have been craving African food and finally decided on this restaurant. I chose this place because it had high ratings, in Laurel(close to home), and has the items I wanted to try. I spent $60.92 for egusi soup/ pounded yam, goat stew/jollof rice ( I was supposed to get 2 sides), and an order of cheese sticks. First of all, this food is overpriced, and the portion size is tiny for the price. I've had egusi soup with mackerel fish in Atlanta and it was delicious. This was not tasty at all. The goat was edible but lacked flavor and spice. The pounded yam was flavorless. I am so disappointed because I spent $60 on nasty food, and to top it off, we drove an hour to get it..

I ordered the tilapia with fried plantains, and I was disappointed. The fish portion was surprisingly small considering the price, and the plantains were not ripe, which made them less enjoyable. On top of that, the service left much to be desired—the waiter was passive-aggressive, which only added to the negative experience. Definitely not worth the cost.

The rating for this restaurant cannot be accurate. Beware! Wasted close to $50 on inedible food. 😔 Unfortunately will be added to list of restaurants in the area with very poor quality food and/or bad customer service. Had a very long wait and ordered egusi and pepper soup takeout. Egusi was inedible and I had to throw out. Pepper soup left a lot to be desired. Honestly, I really want to know why do some African restaurants in the area give customers poor quality food and charge exorbitant prices for small portions? This experience has me rethinking whether I should just not patronize any more African restaurants in Laurel area. I am an optimist and always want to give businesses the benefit of the doubt but it’s been too many years of disappointment. Please let us do better for our community. 🤷🏾‍♀️

My first time getting food from this restaurant and I was excited to find another african restaurant in Laurel. However, I was not impressed with the quality of the food. We ordered egusi soup and pounded yam with side of plantains and side of chicken winglets. Egusi was ok but not as good as what I've had at the other 2 laurel african restaurants (Hunger Tamer and Vieve's cuisine). Plantains i specifically asked if they were sweet and turned out to be sweet but not soft as I prefer (my bad on that). The winglets were the biggest disappointment with some pieces cooked on the outside but not on the inside (see picture).

I'm trying to decide if I'll give them another try or just stick to the other places.
