There is little to recommend here. I came for breakfast at 9:30 am when it was not busy. My order was delivered wrong. I ordered scrambled eggs with scrapple, potatoes and rye toast. i got eggs and toast, no other items. I thought the other items would be coming, so I started eating. Eventually asked about the meat and potatoes and they were not given to the cook. So the meal came disjointed. Also, the place looked poorly maintained, dirty. The meal wound up costing over $20. I read that there was a third diner in this chain and it closed. It felt like this would be the next casualty.

A timeless place: a real institution, quality service, a typical map and great value for money. Thanks to Donna the temple warden.

At the Tastee Diner in Laurel, there was a dog in the Restaurant. This dog was free to roam around the restaurant unattended, going from table to table, standing on two legs begging for food. I told Patty, an excellent waitress, that I strongly objected and she said there was nothing she could do. There were other customers there that felt the way I feel, ie, that customers should not have to be subjected to having dogs in a restaurant This happened this AM around 8:00. No longer will I go to the Tastee Diner.

It’s a small place, but very welcoming one! The food was good, there is a lot of options between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even desserts. This place is certainly a blast from the past, if you’re looking for a quiet and friendly place to enjoy company this is the place.

Walking through the door I have stepped back in time. An old style diner that's been around for ages. Quiet and just the right amount of AC during this heatwave. Had the breakfast special. Loved it. Cooked exactly as ordered.

My server, Donna, represents the kind of server we love. Filling your coffee, which was very good, before you have to wave at her and wait for ages. Knowing to bring extra napkins at the start of the meal with being asked. Not to mention bringing enough extra napkins. It's the small things that are so important.

My over easy eggs were actually over easy. Service was quick. Since I used the restroom let me report it was clean but very small. There are bars to help in using the low seat.

Finally, Donna. She knows the regulars. Working the front all on her own when I was there. Both in house and take out. Excellently done.

If this is your thing then come by and eat here. You will be happy.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside. But the food was amazing. Service was quick and professional. Prices are good.
Very comfortable atmosphere on the inside. Staff were nice, and actually cared about the service to the customer. Not too cold and not too hot like some of the big chain restaurants. I will definitely be back.

This morning I ate a real breakfast at Tastee Diner in Laurel, MD—a thick slice of braised ham, two perfectly cooked over- easy eggs, fluffy biscuit, hash browns & onions, and 3 cups of strong coffee. Just so hearty & satisfying as I fed quarters into the booth’s jukebox at 50cents a song—Willie Nelson was my choice. Time for a movie to be made here, since it’s a classic—an island in the midst of sterile development & fast food franchisees.

Excellent food and service in an original old school diner.
Also shares a parking lot with a very good dispensary if you’re into that.

It's run down and not worth the time. Go to the Denny's a few blocks away for higher quality food. All of the staff were amazing, friendly, and extremely welcoming. The product they offer is just really low grade along with the state of the business. A couple people in my group seemed to enjoy the pancakes though. Again, I really appreciate the staff wholeheartedly, but the food wasn't worth the stop.
