Without competition this is our favorite date spot in St. Mary's county. The chicken & waffles are the best I've ever had and I highly recommend the beef tip dip appetizer. Cocktails are excellent as well!
It was a busy lunch time. It being a holiday, it's to be expected. That staff was hustling so I give them a lot of credit on such a hot day. The Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Chili Shrimp were delicious, as usual. My husband got his usual, the Front Porch Salad, with shrimp which he enjoyed. My daugther and I got the Turkey BLTA. Neither of us liked it. It had an odd taste, which could have been the smashed avocado. Between that and the shredded lettuce, it made the bread soggy...
The place is so run down and dirty! The floors and banisters and tables are sticky. The menu was so old I couldn't read it!! The railing going down the steep stairs to parking was so loose it wobbled and my friend almost fell. The floors are black with grime! And the food is great! Help!!! Will someone please invest in a refurbishment of this historic treasure? PS the stairs are a real barrier for many.
