The good: the restaurant appeared to be clean.
The mediocre: the mac and cheese tasted fine, but it was a very small portion for the price.
The bad: the brisket was not very good at all. At first glance, it had the appearance of roast beef and did not look like any other brisket I've ever had. Taste-wise, I could not detect an ounce of smoke flavor. And the provided sauce tasted more like sugar cookies than anything. It was by no means inedible, but it was not good.
Overall: the prices are not cheap but not out of line with other bbq restaurants I've been to. However, the actual food served here is not worth the price, and I would not recommend this restaurant.
[Sidenote for anyone who is getting fed up with constantly being asked for tips: although you have to order your food by standing in line and prepaying, the receipt gives the option for tipping. I saw multiple servers walking around, so I assumed that they would at least bring out drink refills, utensils, and/or bus the tables while we were eating. Unfortunately, my assumption was incorrect, and I did all of the above for myself and tipped the wait staff for the privilege of serving myself.]

Brisket sandwich was more like roast beef, without the flavor. The meaty beans have meat, and are better than average. Sad when the beans are better than the sandwich, but again, not much better. Wife had the salad with pulled pork. It came out with pork BBQ all sauced up, not what she wanted. And again, not much flavor. I’ve eaten a lot of brisket and BBQ, and all I can say is maybe the people who post great reviews haven’t. Very disappointing.

Went through the drive-through and the service was friendly and fast. Ribs and pulled pork was delicious. Unfortunately the brisket was dry. But otherwise great barbecue.

If you’re ever in Swanton, MD, make sure to stop by Archie’s BBQ! The food is great across the board, but what really blew me away was their Ghost Pepper BBQ sauce. Now, I know the name might sound intimidating, but don’t let it scare you off—it’s the perfect balance of heat and sweetness. I couldn’t get enough of it! The spice level is just right, not overwhelming but still packing a punch, and the sweetness rounds it out perfectly. Highly recommend giving it a try—you won’t be disappointed!
On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. They really go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. All around, a fantastic spot!

Fantastic BBQ! We had the brisket plate. Very good shaved brisket. The fries were made to perfection. The smoked Mac n cheese my wife had was amazing. The sauce was very different, but good! I really liked it! The corn bread was a good split between sweet and savory. We always find a BBQ place when we travel, and this one hit the spot!
Definitely check the place out. You won't be sorry!

Well Archie, I wanted 5 star food but definitely didn’t get it. Brisket sandwich was big the meat had 0 flavor. Literally no taste at all. Staff was great but prices were very expensive. Probably won’t be back there.

Discovered this place after a ragnar race weekend. The place was clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was out of this world. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork and cornbread! A must stop destination.
