The sausage biscuits and gravy was literally the best I've ever had, even better than those I had in the South. They also had great decor and a fabulous Americana musician!

We first found Moonshadow in 2020 and it's become a must anytime we're in Deep Creek. We last went in September 2025 and the food, drinks and service were just as good as always. I also like that it's located centrally to Deep Creek but just a little off Garrett Hwy so you're not listening to non-stop traffic if you sit outside.

On our way from Rocky Gap to Swallows Falls we found MoonShadow. What a great surprise! Beautiful day to eat lunch out on the back patio. Service was fast and friendly (thank you Daniel!) and food was wonderful. We ordered the Steak & Brie Sammiche and the Chicken Parmesan - we should have split as the portions could easily feed two people. Substituted for the truffle fries, so good. Great restaurant for mixed diners who need gluten free/vegetarian/vegan/everything. Still in hiking/walking mode we stuck with Western Maryland Lemonade but would love to come back for dinner and drinks.

We arrived at about 6 pm on a Friday and, although tables were empty, had to wait 15 min. I suspect this is because they are short staffed. That said, the staff was lovely, and we enjoyed our food (risotto and sandwich). Hail to the bartender, who let me try sips of two IPAs before choosing. My only complaint was that service was slow.

You absolutely cannot have an establishment that has a bar and restaurant and not have Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi! No one wants that Stevia stuff - even the servers are horrified of it!

The antique tables and chairs are amazing! The staff is so sweet and the brunch we had on Sunday was insanely good. Def make a reservation! I had the sausage gravy and it was the best I've had. My husband had the best Bloody Mary. Definitely will be a stop every time we visit DCL.

We ate dinner here on our vacation Do to reviews we saw. Our crab dip bowl was great! Along with that we had some wings. Very good could use slightly more sauce. The beer cheese Burrito bowl. Was very good as well. All our food tasted very fresh, quality, and crafted with care

Even though it’s not on the water, this is one of our favorite places to eat when at Deep Creek Lake!

So optimistic and don’t normally post reviews but the service needs some work. We ended up leaving before eating. Wait was 30 minutes (which was totally fine)- from the bar we saw people try to get a table and then leave when no one came to front of house. We got the text our table was ready and then waited at the host stand for quite a bit- finally a server saw us and commented she didn’t know we were waiting (after several rolled by) Seated but then no one came to the table. Had to leave as we were hungry and already an hour in. Front of house help would make it better

This was my second time at Moonshadow. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious. It was great to have some tasty vegan options. Beer, drinks (including nice teas) were all good. I look forward to returning the next time I'm in the area.

Good was great, music was great. Waitress was great. Really they just need someone to bus the tables. Every table is full of dirty dishes. Just kinda gross to eat next to a table full of dirty plates and half eaten food.

Excellent fresh simple yet elegant dishes. Top notch service. Nice room. A welcome difference from the common American/pub style places that seem to dominate the area.
