Great atmosphere, superb wait staff, excellent food, and warm and welcoming owner.
We try to support this place because it's local and walkable but good Lord it's never good. We've been at least six times now and are always disappointed. We're finally just done giving them a chance. The patio is nice when the weather is good and the staff is always friendly.
Foods generally overcooked; for the price you pay you should expect the bare minimum that this doesn't happen. Last time we went a cocktail took half an hour to come out. The waitress at another table was even complaining to her customers that the bartender must be brewing his own beer back there because of how long it took for her to receive it. Last time we went we got stuffed shells and shrimp scampi.
Both of them were overcooked. Come on how do you mess up stuffed shells??
Tldr; overpriced and mediocre food here. Staff is great.

Ate outside under umbrella on a warm day with a girlfriend. Service was friendly and timely. We had the mango habernaro wings which were sweet with a bit of heat and a salad and beers. Very enjoyable. Will be back.

It was my first time eating here and I was not disappointed. First and foremost, our waitress Jacklyn was wonderful. My wife and I had food off the Brunch menu. Her getting the Chesapeake Benedict and I the Shrimp&Grits. She also had the summer flight of mimosas , which she said were great aswell. The kicker for me specifically was the fried green tomatoes. Quite possibly the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had. While they're technically not apart of the Brunch menu, our waitress asked the chef if they could make some and they did, so Kudos to the cook as well. We will be coming to try the dinner menu probably in the next week or 2.

We had a great lunch here. The paninis are large and fresh, served with shoestring French fries. We also had a arugula and fennel salad with grapefruits and walnuts which enough to share and delicious. We loved the menu and had great service. They also have a selection of pizzas, seafood, and a happy hour.

Always wonderful food, service and generous portions.
Been here over 10 times. Have never had anything but an amazing dining experience. Always fresh ingredients. Always welcoming staff. Ok...sometimes there are glitches or issues with selections...but EVERY restaurant has them...BECAUSE WE ARE ALL HUMAN. But every time they were corrected more than satisfactory. Recently was in a discussion with someone about things being said in the reviews. So I read them. OMG...1 star because of an issue in a parking lot, 1 star for an out of control dog... on and on...most of these were more than petty ... and I'm sure not addressed courteously with the staff... meriting a professional solution. Crazy world we live in.
Bottom line, this is one of the best eateries in Middletown...give it a fair, unbiased visit...and make your own opinion of what 95% of their patrons already know... and visit their Gelato parlor, attached...for an amazing dessert. Reccommend 100%

While visiting South Mountain Creamery, we asked several folks for a recommendation for local restaurant with the unanomous answer: Tapia's in Middletown. We were blown away by the experience--Increble service by the wait staff, delicious food and awesome interior and exterior. The icing on the cake, literally is when the owner, Pepe, stopped by our table to ask if we needed anything, I complimented him on his establishment and mentioned that we were there to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. When he noticed that we had finished our lunch, he stopped by to deliver a plate with a double portion terimasu cake with happy birthday inscribed in cherry syrup on the plate! WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN SOON, AND YOU SHOULD VISIT TOO!!!
