I know Otterbein's Family for many, many years, ( E. Northern Pkwy), Mr. Otterbein made my Niece Wedding Cake. I buy the cookies and take them to my daughters NC & Atlanta GA. I am a Big Fan & the Cookies are DELICIOUS. YUM
This new packaging is very deceiving for amount of cookies !The recipe has changed for the ginger cookies because they are not thin and the ginger tastes different! I had been buying these cookies for many years but not now! What a shame!
I understand that global shortages have impacted a lot of things lately—microchips, lumber, even toilet paper—but chocolate chips? Really? Have we as a society fallen so far that the sacred chocolate chip cookie must now suffer this indignity? When I bit into what was advertised as a “chocolate chip cookie” and found three—count them, three—chocolate chips, I couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry.
This wasn’t a cookie; it was a cruel joke. A hollow promise. A betrayal wrapped in dough. Imagine my disappointment biting into a cookie expecting that sweet, melty burst of chocolate goodness, only to find myself searching like a desperate archaeologist uncovering ancient crumbs. I’ve seen TV shows where people search for Waldo, but forget Waldo—where are the chocolate chips?!
Chocolate chips are not just an ingredient; they are the soul of the cookie. They are the glue that holds together the universe of baked goods. Without them, what are we even doing? It’s like calling a pizza a pizza without any cheese—technically it exists, but morally, spiritually, it’s an abomination.
If this is what the cookie world has come to, we might as well pack it up. Or better yet, start a movement. #FindTheChips. Until then, I’ll be here, lamenting the downfall of civilization one empty, chipless bite at a time.
Terrible rock like broken glass texture & this as paper

Recently purchased ginger cookies, very disappointed in the flavor and texture. I expected better, it seems the recipe for these cookies has changed. Will not purchase again.
Where are the cookies made? They don’t taste the same as usual . Very disappointed with choco chips . Few chips and tasteless . I cannot believe the change .
I have always loved these cookies & still do ...however...this bag was very disappointing. Each cookie had max 3 chocolate chips each & they taste different. I hope it was just this batch & the next bag I buy will be better.
I ordered 2 each of lemon/chocolate chip cookies. The lemon cookies were fine but the chocolate chip cookies were stale. I reached out to Otterbeins with no response. I don't think I will order from them again
I'm in shock. Traveled to Baltimore in Aug. Wanted to bring back some cookies for my staff but decided too much to bring home. Ordered plenty. Never arrived. I reached out a month later. They apologized and said shipping issue. Here we are in Oct and still nothing, not even a response to my latest attempt to reach someone. This is ridiculous.
What song from Weis markets yesterday 999 for chocolate chip cookies you can't break up cookies in a plastic tub which means only one thing they will put in their broken it's a shame American business has come to krudie I guess they're not doing quality control anymore because when they were they take out one or two cookies and then they leave them in the shelf in the hallway when you come in the office they were free to the public if the post office didn't suck them all up ain't seen those cookies there in months which means they're not doing quality control or they gotten so selfish they don't want to give away nothing either Sam's club stop selling them or they keep moving them around the store you can't never find them anyway I've tried I'm giving up I'll find something else to buy we always do

Lifelong Baltimore Resident. So much has changed nowadays with foods & snacks taste & portion sizes esp after the Pandemic: Grocery store, online ordering, shops, eating out: Nothing's like it was. Omg. Is this the original recipe? Also SEEMS to be Way LESS cookies although the way they are now enclosed in 2 small plastic bags is better bec they don't all just break up. OK but these no longer taste the same. If you are 35-40+ you'll remember. These ARE NOT Those Same Cookies. Like I remember. I used to literally could not stop eating these. I've had the same bag 1 month now only eaten 2. Eat 1 or 2 and I'm done. Different Flavor + a bitter almost burnt aftertaste. Still using butter or is it a margarine or something mixed in with the butter?...what a letdown bec for me, while these cookies have always been very expensive ($5.99-$6+), they were worth it. A McDonald's 3 pack of Choc Chip Cookies honestly is tastier to me @ only $3.59. Or Pepridge Farm. Even the frozen dough. What A Shame. Won't be buying these anymore. Everybody thinks we won't notice a change in taste, less product, missing or different ingredients, etc.
If you can’t buy these delicious cookies in a store, don’t order them online. On February 7th I placed an order for Valentine’s Day and as of today, Feb. 16th, the cookies have not been delivered. The UPS tracking system is a total dud; on the 14th it said estimated delivery was 7pm that day, yet the indicator said “on the way” not “out for delivery”. Same message yesterday and again today.Badly done Otterbein’s and UPS!
I love the chocolate chip cookies.
My in laws are from Maryland, right outside of Baltimore and for the last 13 years I’ve been with my husband, we’ve enjoyed Otterbein’s cookies at Christmas. My mother in law purchases them by the case at the Baltimore location every single year. Our favorite flavors are the sugar cookies and the chocolate chips. However, this year has been a disappointment. Unfortunately the company must have changed hands and the cookies took the hit. The packaging is different - there are now plastic “sleeves” inside. You only get 2 with approx. 5-6 cookies. Prior to this the entire bag would be filled with cookies! The flavor is also not the same. I’m not sure if they changed ingredients, recipe, etc. but they taste different. My 35 year old husband who has grew up eating these cookies is so disappointed! This will probably be the last year our family purchases Otterbein cookies.
Been buying and loving for years.Sugar and chocolate chip.Purchased choc chip yesterday, and the package has changed. Two individual packages inside and the plastic tray holders take up too much room. Plus more wasted wrapping. And, less cookies…think I will be going back to baking my own.Was really sorry to discover this…
