We've been going to Tashes Ankh for years when they were at their old location. The new location is much bigger, and you can sit down and eat. My daughter and I love the Curry Yuba. We get the veggie patties, too. The soursop drink is a winner. I'm definitely returning.
The facility doesn't match the quality of food! The food is 5 star.
The food is sooo good!!!
Ordered escovitch red snapper delivery and was Totally Disappointed. The fish was COMPLETELY dried out and inedible and the escovitch sauce was not put on my dry ass fish but on the side and it was so much of it that it totally eclipsed the 2 sides I ordered. I'm done with them.... absolute TOTAL waste of money!!!!!!
Worst shit i ever tasted
Tashes Ankh is a hidden gem! A cute spot with stylish decor both inside and out—it really gives you that authentic island vibe. I came in for the oxtail platter and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The oxtails were tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right.
The platter came with rice and peas and cabbage, both of which were delicious and complemented the dish well. I added plantains for an extra charge, and they were definitely worth it—sweet, golden, and the perfect finishing touch to the meal.
If you’re in the area and craving some solid Jamaican food, this spot is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back!
I was so excited to see yuba on their menu that I was willing to deal with long wait times and less than awesome customer service. There used to be a Caribbean place in Pikesville with curried yuba, and I've been dreaming of it since they closed 20 years ago. I decided to call ahead and pick it up, and I took the opportunity to double-check that the two sides I had picked were vegan. Cabbage? No. Rice and peas? No. Okay... Other options then... Fried dumplings? Nope. Plantains? No. The woman on the other end of the line interrupted me. "Nothing is vegan except the things that are the vegan meals." Except those are supposed to come with two sides, and none of those are vegan. Basically, you'll be paying $20 for a main dish with no sides, and you'll still need to go home and make those yourself. The only other options are drinks. That's just bad form. It makes me wonder -- if they can't make rice or cabbage vegan, is their brown stew really vegan? That's way more complicated. I don't like questioning, but their actions don't make me confident in their integrity regarding maintaining the vegan diet.
I have been a customer for years. Ordered curry shrimp for 20 plus dollars and it was dry, hardly any gravy and bland. Very disappointed.

Although they were sold out of soup, I thoroughly enjoyed the pineapple ginger juice.

I really love this food. My favorite curry chicken, rice, Peas and the Carrot juice with milk. Sometimes not often it's a hit and miss. Customer service and the wait could be better. I would suggest placing an order ahead.
